Title: Howland's Ultimate Adventurer Challenge
Post by: Random_White_Guy on February 18, 2010, 05:16:34 PM
This (http://www.escapefromunderdark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24348) is something I want to seriously attempt.

I've got a PC at present but would like to begin work on crafting a concept to undertake this epic challenge.

I want to try and do it with a wide variety of cool PCs and different classes, and make it like an Old style DnD campaign run. Not so interested in the politics of Ymph, only in finding, pursuing, and seeking high adventure for glory, treasure, and otherwise for our names to forever be etched in the eyes of the gods and the history of existence, and some of that sweet sweet adventurous RP.

The PCs in question would likely be part of a mainland adventuring troupe and through means finds way to the colony (Shipwreck/etc if a DM would be interested in helping with a prelude), and folks wound naturally be welcome to tag along ICly or join the troupe.

Still a rough idea by many means but I just thought I'd throw it out there, since its the next concept I want to run after my current PC.

If anyone has interest in attempting it when the time comes lemme know

Since we're going with what appears to be D&D Campaign tropes... here is mine.  :p  I already have a character, but this appears to be more of a side thing anyway.  Log on, quest, log off.  I've always wanted to do this as well.  Anyway.  Here is my character.

Pete Boss AKA "The Boss"
Race:  Halfling
Alignment:  Chaotic Neutral
Deity:  Tymora
Class:  Rogue
Age:  19

Biography:  Pete grew up on the mean streets of Athkatla.  He never knew his parents and for all intents and purposes identifies more with humans than halflings.  He had connections to the Shadow Thieves for awhile, and the skills he picked up through his life of (admittedly minor) crime shall serve him well on his adventures ahead.

He carries with him a silver coin featuring Tymora's face surrounded by shamrocks which he brings out every now and then to kiss for good luck.  "The Boss" is well known for his thrill seeking ways and enjoys gambling.

His favorite things in life are (in order):  wealth, whores, and gambling.

His stated life goals are (in no particular order):
1.  To slay a dragon.
2.  To have sex with a nymph or attractive woodland fey creature.
3.  To obtain one million gold coins and spend it all in a single night on something really big.
4.  To become famous and well-known throughout Faerûn.

Skills:  Open Lock, Hide, Move Silently, Search, Disarm Traps, Use Magical Device, Parry, Set Trap, Tumble

Weapon Proficiencies:  The Boss prefers to attack at range with a short bow, but if forced to fight in close quarters will draw a rapier and attempt to parry the attacks.

I'd dig this.

Character: Rickyknee Lazyfoot
Race: Halfling
Class: Cleric
Deity: Brandobaris
Age: 39
Alignment: True Neutral

Biography: A Hand of Misadventure, Rickyknee is actually a clever cleric whose exploits earned him a small reputation in the city of Arabel. Hearing of adventure, he joins the crew providing divine blessings of the Master of Misadventure to those who acknowledge him.

His Stated Goals: Adventure, Fame, and a chance to romp with the Scamp himself.

Okay so I guess my first post was vastly misunderstood:

1) 6 int half orcs are well and good, but we're gonna try to have serious RP too. I've gotten a lot of

2) The "Group" facet of this thing is the adventuring company, -not- the Challenge.

I don't know if I phrased it wrong in the top post but I'm not looking for an entire group of people to do entire quests with. That's impossible due to playtime/etc constraints.

This is just me wanting to do this, and doing a -group- of Adventury folk. You're free to pursue whatever you want if you wanna have a PC in the company but not try the challenge.

Or you can try to do it with me!

The point is though:

There is no "Spots", since there's been some folks cliaming "Dibs" on roles of certain classes when talking to me. Its just a conglomerate of adventurers (as said in main post, folks can be picked up IC too, and join the company).

Sorry for any confusion!

Ha! I've been planning on having my next PC form an adventurers club type thing as well.  I think one of the things we're missing in general is a kind of no-politics forum for just having fun RP and engaging in fun adventure.  If the end of our characters mesh up I'd be interested in this to be certain.
