Title: Wastrel Inn could have a map marking
Post by: Wyric on January 06, 2010, 01:26:14 AM
As it is well known establishment by now, would be convenient to have it marked on the map.

It is marked isn't it?

Nope! Though I expect that getting the remade docks up was a priority and most of the map pins will be added later.

I think DMS Should just remove all map pins on the server and allow PCS to set such pins via IG MAPS. I truly thing map pins ruin the immersion of the server.

I like the pins, especially since the redesign. And when is the Crone opening? Aaaaand you put a wizard tower right next to it, what is this, McDonald's and BK?

A good idea to promote map kits, but:
Map kits are expensive at 80 gold for an area, and at 0.5lb a map, a selection of them is a noticeable burden. I would suggest making the maps (but not the kits) weigh a lot less, say 0.1lb, and reduce the cost to about 20 gold.

I actually played a PC in the underdark, Justan Nefzen, who managed to sell a few maps of Lower and the Lower Tunnels after the Chosen took over, so people could navigate with less trouble. Price tended to be offputting though.

Map pins for major populated city zones are, in my opinion, important for orienting new players. Personally, I'd like to see some quests/questgivers clearly marked as quests, as well (such as the "Infested Granary" map pin being made more obvious) but I don't know what the DM attitude towards that would be. A zone like the docks shouldn't have too many map pins, but the Wastrel should definitely be one of them.

With all of that said, I have no idea when anyone will get around to this.

This is redundant. It's implemented now, I used it to find the Wastrel today. :P

People like me need map pins. I got list in the Docks for like 20 minutes.

It's cool the current map pins were added, could there be one for the tanner also? I was unable to spot it if there is.
