I was thinking that the colonies and towns should have names. For example, we could change Old Port to Olde Porte and the Colony to something cool like Shrouded Hill.
Not sure why you would add a couple E's to Old Port..
And as for a name for the colony, suggest it ingame? Simply start calling it something, and make it take off. I agree it could do with a name, but I can't really see why its up to the DM's to announce with some higher up NPC that its been named whatever.
We're actually considering names for the Ziggurat city, if you have any feel free to suggest them here. You could even make up complete words if they sounded sweet, and say its Netherese.
The Isle of Doom, Ragnarok.
Barrow Hill, considering what "lives" beneath it.
Amphipolis?

Brauron, Dioscurias, Erythrae, Hierapolis, Kallipolis, Lepreum, Megalopolis, Metapontum, Rhypes.
I've always been fond of Nebudzznos.
Badass- the colony's name is badass.
Necronomicon
Nebudzznos or whatever it was never stuck.

Honestly, it wouldn't make sense that it would stick. That's a name from an (essentially) dead language. To me it makes more sense that the Count would prefer the name be suitable for him instead of sticking with some obscure thing that no longer matters in the minds of the people who live there.
New Found Land, New Port, Van Diemen's land
It will probably be named Port Trenada tbh, if he ever arrives.

I have an idea, how about New Sanctuary, or New Dunwarren
The Shrouded City
Misthaven
Newport [second vote]
New port makes the most sence IMO.
Port Trenada sounds exelent too though.
POrtred strikes fear in the hearts of portal rats and gang scum.

The Netherese used names like Nethril, Asram, Anauria and Hlondath for their cities.
I like thes suggestions:
Trenada
Erytrae
Rhynes
And one of my own; Knevedore (pronounced Neva-door, the k is silent.)
Renaming places when a new leader/regime begins (St Peterberg / Leningrad) is likely.
So i would say Port Trenada would be decent, or something like that.
butt land
Candy mountain.
Port Elient.
bastion of red eleint
Boatmurdered.
Giantcatland
Port Trenada has my vote
How about actually working to change the cities name IG rather then bitching about it oocly?
Or rather than getting angry and accusing people of bitching, it could be a discovered name.
Nebedzzos or whatever indeed it was, was the discovered name. Should we unearth the Secondary Slate of Names or something?
New Port = ciggarettes. [Shrug.]
Port Trenada = Trenada is a boring name.
Well, here:
Kumataigial (Coo-Mah-Tay-Gale) = Wave of the Ocean.
Eirenaigial (E-Ren-Aye-Gale) = Harmony of the Ocean.
Laophos (Lay-O-Phoss [like phone with a strong s])= Light of the People.
Agrothanatana (Agro-than-a-tana) = Land above Death.
I'll come up with more.
