The medicinal herbs rock, but as a frequent player, ive noticed everyone just calls it bandages.
Perhaps renaming them bandages, or making the blue paste from the blue mushroom inn add to the effect of them, would be cool.
I normally refer to them as poultices and bandages.

Believe it or not there are different types (and sizes of) herbs in the module. There are also items that enhance the effectiveness of the herbs when used (and I'm not referring to just items that boost your heal skill either).
So I think we're covered in this department.
As far as what players choose to call them in common terms while in game...that's up to them

They're medicinal herbs, not bandages. How many people ask if they want some medicinal herbs then wrap bandages around your wounds in real life? The same thing, you don't call something something else. Unless you actually think these herbs are bandages, then you'd most likely have a -10 to heal for trying to wrap herbs around their arm.

The medicine bags, to me, have lots of stuff. Herbs, minerals, poultice, burn salve, disinfectant, etc. And I carry a stitching needle and thread, along with bandages, to take care of more serious things on top of those. One time Erin broke her pinky, and I had her wearing a splint for a while.
My own suggestion is to add stronger herbs and minerals and such out in the wilderness, or in certain shops, that do 2 of even 3 HP per round instead of 1. It doesn't have to increase the actual healing numerically, but the extra speed factor of some extra-rare herbs could be nice for those who had the inclination to hunt for it.

or we we could have the druids make them. seriously they are adept with nature and know what plants do and don't. i mean if you plan on scripting plants and such you might as well allow druids to do so. to me druids are pretty weak rp. allowing them to make herbs will give them more rp besides they can spell cast and are pretty descent fighters.

This isn't a high priority change, but the herbalism system (that has been in planning for far too long, I know) will very likely feature various styles of "improved" medicinal herbs.

I love the medicinal herbs, and my character has a max healing skill and always carries two bags full. Those herbs are life savers!
No, really they are. ;) When someone dies, and it's safe for them to respawn, my favorite way for them to have a "magical recovery" is by shoving herbs down their throat.
