i was wondering. could wizards/bards/sorcerors/anyone that has an intellignce of 15+ could copy spells into books? can that be scripted? because i am still berating myself for that book that could cure practiculy anything that could be used only once. So i am just wondering if this could be possible. ((just make it expensive to do to prevent overuse)) this will actually encourage a library to be formed in the players. scholaery charctors can be rped. and the acsess to people who are ignorant of gods can ((those charctors who were lazy not to look at dogmas)) look in the librbary and find out quickly. i like this idea a lot more. and magical books can be copied for a riduculous amount and must be dropped at the librbary and the charctor must come back and pick it up in 24 hours real time

meant to put this under suggestions. my internets is still messing with me. and seriously it iwll make rping a scholar charctor easiar since there will be no shortage of books. there is the the bookstore but come on that thing is ful of survival and history. no medicinal or any misc knowledge like mathamtics or science.

You need to look first at the setting and decide whether or not a one hundred and fifty year old slave down poised in the middle of the underdark, surrounded by hostilities, would really have a vast set of scribed knowledge available. The book store is what Sanctuary has, and yes, it's not as much of a wealth of knowledge as it is a depository of survival guides -- becuase that is what is needed in the town.

Some enviroments simply do not encourage 'scholarly' activity. You may find that there are factions, groups, organizations, or other places that may better support this, but Sanctuary is little more than a slum. They don't got not books.

But, you have to remember, there is nothing stopping you from changing that.

i know theres been some ic on building a library in town but no one seems to want one. i know the wizards would love one. besides a library will allow some more citizens to learn and develop ideas that will better the town. then on to schools and whatnot. my points is can we just get a scribe that can copy books that you have?
