Posted at the Town Hall

A ragged, limping man in the torn rags of a drow is seen entering, wondrously, the gates of Sanctuary. After wandering, dazed, through the streets of Upper, he goes to the scribe and leaves a message posted prominently at the Town Hall. It reads:

"I'm from Traensyr. In less than two day's time, the Jhelaur D'vrem, a large drow slaving cutter, will leave its dock in Traensyr and cut across the Underdark to an unknown destination. It will bear with it a cargo of nearly three hundred children. Nearly three hundred girls and boys torn from their families on the surface or elsewhere to be chained and sold like cattle. Someone must help them!

I'll be staying at the Rock Bottom if anyone wishes to know more, but this is all the information I know.

Richard Beruan"

//Anyone is welcome to try to get involved in this situation. If you want to try something, try to catch me IG or let me know on IRC. If I'm around, I'd be glad to help -- particularly if you have a group of characters involved, not just you. Note that I can't possess two NPCs at once, so you may be out of luck if I'm already helping out one group. Also be aware that involvement in a quest(s) relating to this may result in perma-death or being enslaved (having your spawn point set to a slave camp).//

*An elegant letter containing the seal of the Seekers is left for Richard at the Rock Bottom*

Richard,

I would be interested in how you were able to break free of the Drow City and make it all the way to Sanctuary. Additionally, I would be interested in providing the Seekers assistance to free these children, providing your story checks out. I will be in touch soon.

Sir,

I thank you for the offer of aid. You may wish to speak with Mormont Baelister or Marten Briars. I spoke with them at length. I believe they are planning something. You are, of course, also welcome to speak with me in person. I will remain at the Rock Bottom.

Richard

[Written in a languid hand at the bottom of these posts]

Your children are freed, but now what are their futures?

[A missive to Richard Beraun is sent]

Beraun,

Your children are safe, a hundred and more fill my Lord's estate. I will soon begin to have my men seek room and board for them with other families of Sanctuary.

I hope you recall my offer.

The children need a man to watch over them when I am indisposed.

Signed

Captain Baelister
