Esteemed Agents of the Spellguard.
Your service and dedication to the Sanctuary is renowned. As such I wish to lay before you a plan which I imagine will benefit your esteemed faction and the town well.
My wish is to establish within the town a library, created by the citizens and adventurers of Sanctuary. This library’s hall would be filled with blank books, upon which any individual would be able to record his sum of knowledge, and also preserve city lore.
People would be free to write about their adventures, happenings and quests. I believe that in this way we would be able to record, share and most importantly preserve much of the knowledge that is currently dispersed amongst the citizens of the town and often lost when one of them passes into Kelemvor's realm.
This library, I hope, will gather a collection of geographical and ethological lore, alongside information of the Underdark, its sentient races and dangers in general, all for the benefit of the town. A record and description of magical items found in the Underdark could also be kept. It would in addition allow individuals to keep a record of their own life and family to preserve and pass on to future generations.
I believe a library such as this would benefit your faction for various reasons. It would allow Spellguard Agents access to information gathered by unaligned citizens, without drawing on the valuable time of the Agents.
It is in this belief that I ask for the Spellguard's support, both in influence and in coin, in bringing this library into being. We do not intend for this to be a costly project, but any coin you can offer, whether out of the Spellguard's budget or the private coffers of the agents, would greatly aid the library, and I believe your organisation and the town as well.
