I've searched the website, and the forums, without luck. If this has been posted before, feel free to toss me to the mutated sharks.
In my time here, I've met a few halflings, that isn't actually halflings. As in people playing human characters/children on the halfling base model. I've even met a character who was just "a very small lady".
Children should be DM application only, and should use the Boy/Girl player model. I've been told that this is the way it's usually done, but some players have given me the expression that it's actually okay to make these characters, despite the fact that they would then play with wrong racial bonuses.
So, to formulate this little rant into a question:
Is it okay to make children without DM permission?
Thanks in advance,

No, halflings are halflings - point out characters that try to play "children" to us, and we'll have a polite word with them aside, and a chat about the server in general. I like talking to people one-on-one, because then you can answer any other questions they will undoubtedly have about the daunting world that we have.
Also - always be polite to newer players. General advice, but there's really no reason to get angry or overbearing to a newer player. There's a lot to take in!
Thanks

Yup, that's what I thought then. I just found it odd, that the players in question, seemed somewhat experienced, and other players gave me the expression that this was alright.
Thanks for the quick response.
