Although we're still technically in alpha, we're rapidly reaching a point where we'll be ready for the public. I know word is getting out some, so I thought I'd put up some general advice for how to enjoy this server.

(1) Interact with people. There's a tremendous amount of DM activity going on, but almost exclusively it's with groups. So if you get a group together, 90% of the time a DM will try to float something your way.

(2) Acquire a citizen stone -- you can't hear public sendings (which may relate to a DM quest or something else) without it.

(3) Most of our quests at the time of writing are not truly fully-functional yet. All that means is you should send a DM tell if you want to try one, and we can most likely activate it for you.

(4) The Underdark itself is quite dangerous, with a wide variety of dangerous monsters. That isn't to say we discourage exploration, but rather that we recommend doing so in a group, well supplied, and proceed carefully (ask your scout to figure out a way around the monsters). The monsters in the UD areas aren't there to give you XP, they're there to make the place challenging and difficult to explore.

(5) There are a couple of fedex quests around, ask other PCs where you might find them if you're looking

(6) the "Sewers" area is fairly safe place for the low levels, although again we strongly recommend going in a group.

(7) Dunwarren Ruins - Bowels of the Machine is a new area with a slightly more challenging but similar general adventuring area feel like the sewers. You can find things within that NPCs will pay you for, and there's a lot of mysteries and stuff to figure out, so it may be fun to explore with a group. This area has just been put in, so I'd definitely like some feed-back in terms of how challenging it is and if anyone has any ideas how to make it better.

(8) XP over all is lower than it will be eventually because of alpha testing.

(9) Don't hesitate to use the dm channel!

Just as a general FYI, server has been and will continue to be down most of the time until we fix some major scripting issues. It will be up intermittently for the next few days, hopefully heading to 24/7 access shortly after the New Year.
