This post is in regards to the sale of somewhat 'unique' and definitely neat items to NPCs. It's not that I am fussing at anyone, but I thought I would raise the issue while we are still early into things. It is my hope that commerce can be generated PC to PC and set the trend early. I know gold can be tough to come buy as everyone tries to scratch out a means for themselves in EFU, but let us not throw away some great oppurtunities for short term gain.
The DMs take their time to make these really great items and it hurts the heart to see them forever lost to an NPC. A lot of times in the effort to make a really cool item, the limitations of the toolset force you to create a really highly valued item. Now...just because a neat item you found is worth a lot of gold on an NPC doesn't mean you should sell it. It is my believe that these items were made with the intent that they would be used. They give us an edge in a harsh environment and to be honest, they really can give you the chance to shine and have a moment or moments of glory. I think that is worth far more than the short term gold you make...even if it is hundreds of gold.
If all they wanted us to have was gold, I think they would just leave gold drops on most of the encounters. So I implore my fellow EFU players to seek out others when you find an item that may not be useful to you. I am sure...very very sure that there is someone who will give you as much gold as possibly for some of these great items.
Please feel free to discuss and comment. "Sound Bomb Bolts" were made to rock!

I fully agree with the point Hobo has made; I'd like to add that it's not only all the weird/entertaining/frightening unique items the DMs have created for us that make the rich, vibrant and compelling world - it is also the many inventive and funny ways the players can use them in. Inserting the item you have got and its specific qualities/description into your emotes will make your character even more special and fun to play with - do not be afraid to do it just because it will extend your emote by one line. The other players don't normally see the plethora of items in your inventory - let the paraphernalia and assorted oddities mix with your PC's appearance and actions, thus sharing the artefacts with the others without losing the hold over them.

I've already seem some very nice items, a lot of which were already pawned at the bazaar. I myself have had my hands on some items that had very high price tags. Much higher than expected. Even some seemingly mundane items fetch a fine price. The lure of gold is tempting especially when it is hard to keep stock healing and save for other items. But remember all these items exist for a reason. You were awarded them for a reason. And as always you wont get near what they are truely worth at a NPC merchant. You might find other uses for them. Selling them to others that may appreciate them is always good. There still are other ways. Remember that this server is a bit unlike most. We have a pretty nice selection of things that other less manned servers may afford. Use items as a bartering chip with players and NPCs alike. I went on a quest and was rewarded a fairly nice helmet that looked awful (a DM trait I love) I never even saw what it was worth if I were to sell it. I gave it right back to the same DM when I needed it as a barter for some info. I may have given away thousands of gold for some info, but it was info I needed to further my goal and that of a potential plot.

I make a point to mark my loot as plot or stolen, although I'm sure I forget sometimes (and marking items with charge as plot is problematic). It might be we have a merchant buying stolen goods, who is that?
