Private: The Erin Larche Logbook

*lifting her head up from the Sanctuary lawbook long enough to be distracted, she flips to a fresh page of her notebook and begins writing. The language is Kara-Turan, specifically Waan.*

Predicting an attack is useless if you can't dodge it.

*she returns to her study of the lawbook, quickly forgetting the brief entry in what will no doubt become quite a sporadically-updated logbook, kept in her pack at all times*

*Erin jots down a few notes in the logbook before retiring for the night*

Silver. Clayton. Kor'us and Valaun.

Never underestimate a strong force of archers. During my last two trips to the mines regarding the ongoing Gnoll threat, our party has used bolts and arrows to devastating effect on the enemy forces. Gnolls are large targets and very strong, but their aim is no better.

Investigate origin of Underdark Gnolls. Ex-slaves? Naturally subterranian? Nearby settlement? Legality of Gnolls within Sanctuary? Gnoll slaving practices?

Could buy full plate if I wanted it. I'll wait until Lockwood's gift is beyond repair. Already the left pauldron is dented and riddled with holes. Would like lightened plate.

Continue training in ni-ten ryuu ichi. Must practice more with Ben. Gel. to increase proficiency.

*something crossed out here, intelligible*

New election. Won't run. Find out which candidates are applying. Kaddaz should try.

*the well-bandaged Erin wanders down to her bunk, and the makeshift desk there. Lifting open the cover of her personal logbook, she takes to making her new entry on a fresh page*

Sheriff Walters accepted me into the Watch, so I am now a Private.

Jastran is also a Private.

I learned that medium armor is not my preference. In fact, I may have to ask my superiors for something better.

I confessed to [#]. We have an equitable deal in the making. [#] confided in me his secrets, and his feelings, and I returned his trust in kind. It has been some time since I've returned to the inn: I must remember to patrol upstairs as well, as much crime could occur there. That place must be kept safe.

[-|-] seems to know. [#] may have told him despite the advice of secrecy. I may have to kill them both. [-|-] is very nice to me, and has been both helpful and welcoming. I think I will give him a gift. I will give him a wand.

I've served with -> quite often in the last week or so. I've doted upon -> and we've shared many a friendly spar in addition to our work in protecting Sanctuary. -> is brave, and just when it seems I'll never see -> again, a miracle occurs and -> comes out strong. When I awoke outside the armory, I felt very anxiously towards ->, but as things progress and -> displays an ability to handle tough and frightening situations, I feel more and more comfortable. I think it was concern.

I met Ashlee. She reminds me of {G} very much, though she's a little older and much more aware. She and [< may be involved: I've warned [< to be wary of harming her.

<- is a very flattering person to associate with, perhaps moreso even than [#]. Is it too late to see whether he is a joker or genuine? There is naught to be done for it regardless.

Something is to be said for relying on tradition and technique.
