Letter to the Council

Councillors

I have been informed to tell my fellow watchmen on your behalf to be more organised with crimes which require a trial by the council. Specifically I've been told that some crimes have been put to trial which are not of that requirement. Specifically so that I may review what is happening, could you inform me of cases and crimes which have been sent to trial which should not have been?

As I understand, it is reguarding the called crime "Attempted Murder" which someone who survives after assault is only Assaulted. Looking at the law book, reguarding Assaults, these said assaults were Armed, and therefore the judgement for Armed Assault is exile, or stoning

Lawbook Assault upon Sanctuary Citizen with intent to kill (using weapons or deadly magic): exile or stoning, dependent upon Council

Assault (hands, harmless magic): imprisonment, fine, or exile depending on situation

I believe this therefore needs some level of clarification.

Sergeant Marshall

Sergeant,

While your adeptness at bolding the word 'weapon' is commendable, your adeptness at bolding the words 'intent', 'to', and 'kill' are sadly lacking. Without delving into the records, I can say that I personally have presided over cases where, although weapons were employed, the aggressors vanquished their foes, and released them alive and well. This more or less fully disproves the attempt to murder.

This is one but example, if you want specific case logs, then you'll have to wait. We have more pressing matters to deal with.
