I tried jumping in and making a cleric character- I simply got stuck after guessing at what god to pick-all of them said that they didn't match my domains I picked- problem is that when you make the character up, you have to choose the domains first. I looked at the otherwise very helpful material here on the EFU site about Forgotten Realms gods (I'm an old Greyhawk person, so it's a steep learning curve in some ways)
It would be very helpful if the material on deities told you what Domains are acceptable for each god. I have no real idea and guessing didn't work.
Meantime, can anyone tell me what an elf cleric, chaotic good (I figured this was safe) with Animal and Healing domains should pick? I am happy to be a devotee of a non-elf specific god, just so I don't have to totally redo the character.
Thank you in advance to any help.

On the faiths of Faerun forum, the acceptable NWN domains are already there for each deity.
I strongly, strongly, strongly recommend picking the deity first -then- the domains.
Good luck!

Here's the link.
Usually about half way down the entry for each god.

its possible that no god matches the domain that you want :( . + if they do, there is possible way of knowing if that dogma is right for your style of play.
So, yeah, a cleric is alot of work to build the concept, which some of it you learn as you go... but they are really fun to play with i find, so much potential in a party for you to do,

There are deities that support both Animal and Healing, actually, but like was said -- you'll want to forget about the domains entirely before you've chosen your deity.
