I was wondering if there was a way to give the shifter class the ability to copy skins of other PC's and be able to use them as overrides over the first five shifter forms ( little dragon ones ) so that a shifter could take shapes of other people. I think that for RPing it is a great idea, and it makes sens IC wise for a shifter to be able to imitate the people around him.
However, this does mean that the shifter class is a very restricted class, and that you have to work very hard to achieving this.
Imagine the damage it could do in an already unstable town

From a technical standpoint this would be tough to do. Second, Shifters are still druids at the core and I'm not sure that a nature lover of that degree would want to shift into anything other than beasts.
I truly like the idea of a doppleganger of sorts, but the scripting to do that on this would be freaking huge I'd imagine.

Shifters at present can (theoretically, it varies by CR) change into any kind of monster in the module at present.

A level one shifter can shift into humanoids. In EfU shifters can control their appearance as much as is allowed possible by the engine (race, phenotype, head) when they shift into a playable race.

I just wish there was an easy way to change gender and skin/hair color. Maybe v1.68 will add those features.

Lastly, doing a lot of scripting for 1-2 players' benefit isn't really that efficient.

It sounds very cool. Cawilla, I saw some scripting on the NWN vault for a "belt of gender" or some other sort of device. I've heard of other PW using it effectively as well.
