*A sealed letter sent to the Tigereyes

Tigereyes,

I would like a swift, to the point, explanation of these events. Failure to do this will result in acceptance of the crime and a fine of 300 gold, for each matter, will be issued to the Tigeye company as a whole and the matter will then be brought to the attention of the Council.

Witness Spellguard,

I write to report an incident of unlawful spellcasting. The Tiger Eye mercenary, Terio Menthur, did unlawfuly cast some sort of dissapearing spell in the middle of the seeker compound, an unwarded building. Witnesses include Ivlysar, Seeker Hauksen and our barmaid.

-*blanked out*

Witness A Tigereye wizard assaulted me with spells outside the Crone. I don't care about the assault, little pissant couldn't even finish what he started. I want the reward for reporting illegal magic use though.

Name is *blanked out* and I can be paid by arranging a meeting or dropping the gold off with Cyrus at the Pissing Crone. Was a skinny little whelp of an elf in Tigereye colors.

Delgado my good friend,

It is good to hear from you my friend, it has been too long. As for these accusations, I can say little is found in the realm of truth. The incident so creatively written about an elf wizard outside the Crone is false. Do we have an elf wizard? Yes. But he is on strick orders with myself and the Captain. This incident never occured I can assure you. As for the matter with Terio, your good Watch friends have been on his case for little understood reason. Rest assured that he has not acted out of line, and that he has already served time, though brief, in the Watch's cell arrested by one of your own for these matters. I would hope that you and I could see one another for a drink sometime, to catch up.

*A sealed letter is sent to the Tigereye compound*

Tigereyes,

after meeting with Terio Menthur yesterday I informed him that he was to pay a fine of 400 gold for two seperate unauthorized spellcasting incidents which I have already sent correspondence concerning. Tigereye Menthur payed the sum of 200 gold for his unlawful spellcasting within the Seeker compound but refused to pay his fine of 200 gold for casting numerous spells upon citizens outside the Hoarran shrine as reported by Councillor Shane. The fine will be raised by 200 gold each day until it reaches the sum of 2000 gold by which time I will be forced to arrest Tigereye Menthur for lack of cooperation and disregard of the law. An additional fine of 200 gold shall also be payed by the Tigereye company for the following crime:

Varlam Nikitovich

To whom it may concern:

Yesterday a "Mercenary Terio" wearing Tigereye colors cast a Hold spell upon a dwarf in the street by the Lower market. The dwarf was wearing armor that was colored somewhat like the Tigereye's, and apparently the reason for this casting had been to ask him to change the colors. He left a bit of coin for dye and walked off past the fortress, laughing.

Lance-Constable Mayna witnessed this spell's effects and the conversation. Unless/until the victim of the Hold spell is needed, he wishes to remain anonymous. There is a third witness that knows the lance-constable.

Upon conviction and payment of fine, I desire no reward.

Varlam Nikitovich

If the second request is refused as well then that amount will be raised by 200 gold each day until it reaches the sum of 2000 gold where I will be forced to arrest Tigereye Menthur for that crime as well.

Take notice of the fact that I am currently collecting information about Tigereye misconduct concerning the anti-spellcasting laws in Sanctuary and will present it to the Council soon. It is, to myself, a sign of the inept nature of your company to believe that you can recruit spellcasters to see to the safety of Lower Sanctuary, without even consulting the Spellguard first, and believe that no laws shall be broken during their duties.

I would also remind you that the Tigereye complex is unwarded and any spellcasting within it is against the laws, I have already received several reports stating that Tigereye members have cast numerous spells against prisoners within the Tigereye compound and that matter shall also be dealt with in due time.

I simply had not thought that a company of supposedly capable mercenaries would have to threaten the safety of Sanctuary through unwarded spellcasting simply in order to carry out their duties.

As to Tigereye Commander Onyxadze's request, I shall meet with you when you wish but I am not one to indulge myself in drinking with a member of a group that so apparently has no wish to uphold their contracted duties.

Commander Onyxadze,

would you care to explain to me what in the hells is happening concerning your former jester of a mage? He gets charged with crimes and then moments later notices claiming the Tigereyes are planning to conquer Sanctuary are posted up. Can you control your bloody people or not?

By the way, Menthur's fines have now reached 1600gold. You have 6 days until a warrant to his arrest will be drafted.

*Another sealed letter is sent to the Tigereyes*

I would like to inquire as to if it is normal for the Tigereyes to employ someone the deem untrustworthy and in turn mislead said person by means of false information during their stay in the Tigereye company? Shall we, the other members of law enforcement in Sanctuary, endure members of the Tigereye company that not even their fellow members of the Company trust? How are we, in turn, to trust any of your members as of this moment, now that we know that apparently anyone can be employed in your company - and any of them might be acting on false information given to them by their commanding officers which might lead to a potential threat to Sanctuary's safety?

By the way, Mercenary Menthur's fine has now reached 3200 gold. You have two days left until we are forced to apprehend him by force.

Brendan receives the note, looks for Mordur, doesn't find him, then writes a small reply back, in barely-legible scrawl

Delgado,

Dunce was a wanker. You know that, everyone does. Why send us a shit ton of letters about him? He's gone, hiding away like a rat, so don't worry about it. You're pissing me off.

Terio is fine. You're welcome to come get him. That'll give me an excuse to beat you to death for killing that Lower bloke who threw fruit at you for being an imperious bastard.

-Wilks

Delgado,

I see no reason to justify my methods with you. As I have seen little justification for yours. I have orders, and I have my ways. You need understand nothing more. Amolef was a fool. But he was a Tiger. So it makes for a fine line. I contsantly test and train my men. He failed many a test. You upstairs may think he is a fine man, I dont know. He should have been a bard, if nothing else, for he tells quite a tale. Many things in his missive were misdirections of his mind on my part. While many others still are tall tales of his own. He failed his final test. As for Terion, I will not honor your fine, as he has already served time for the incidents you claim. Even though he saw himself innocent, he still sat in the cell to shut you Uppers up. ((This was a DM possesed spellguard agent)) One of yourown put him in a cell for these "crimes". I'd suggest you keep better files.
