I know you may have heard rumours or more of Shan, and his fate. Let me tell you now that Shan sacrificed himself along with four others to save this town and it's people from a terrible fate. They gave themselves to the drow, and we are safe because of them.

Having seen little recognition of his or the others sacrifice I wanted you to know the truth of his selfless act. Shan was a true friend to me, and I miss him.

I can also tell you this. I am trying to discover their fate now. I cannot tell you more than this but if they are still alive, I hope to find a way to bring them home. It will be dangerous, not only to ourselves but to those I ask for aid. Pray with me, that I can bring this to pass.

Thank you for your letter. I have indeed heard this news about Shan. Our friendship was short lived, and while I do think he has been very foolish in this supposed act of heroism and sacrifice, I also bear him no ill will and would not wish his fate on anyone.

If I am able to help you in any way in seeking the safety and restoration of freedom of these individuals, please let me know.

On a lighter note, I have been welcomed as a Spellguard Associate which is exciting for me for my interest in magical artifacts has only increased since arriving in Sanctuary. I have also received some guidance in the art of potion making, but would love to learn more from an experienced one such as you.

I know indeed more than rumours since I was there when it happened and saw it all with my own eyes. A selfless, and noble act, and as my reconaissance showed, very effective. I expected you would approve.

Do not think I would just stand by idly.. But know that my focus lies on the one of the volunteers who shared all of my blood and not just part. If we were to join forces, know where my priorities lie.
