Sargent Marshal,

i noticed the posters you had placed around and i have an idea. i am unaware if it has been thought of yet however it may be useful none the less.

I have witnessed quite a few Drow attacks and have seen many of their tactics in action however their greatest flaw i have noticed is their arrogance especially when they believe they have the battle won before it has started. When they have this thought on their minds they tend to Dispose of the use of Rear Guards for their combat forces and instead dispatch them to the front lines. this may be utalised very effectivly however i do not know if the plan would have time to be prepared. What i propose is that we tunnel under the paths the drow are most suspected to travel to arive at our gates. theese tunnels should be constructed to withstand alot of weight but should be easly destroyed from the inside. the concept behind them is much like a pit trap as the tunnel is filled with oil, preferably oil of impact as that would grant quite a large amount of confusion having the ground collapse only to be forced back up again as the explosions take hold however flamable oil would work almost as effectivly. The application should be used in such a way that when all or atleast a large portion of the dark elves are ontop of the tunnels that some one pulls the Rope connected to the key suport structures droping th tunnel then in the case of the flamable oil set alight the oil soaken roap causing the entire tunnel to flare to life.

However as you could imagine this tactic could take some time to prepare and myself not knowing the time line expected before this drow force arives that i keep hearing words about cannot give much else.
