Dispel Invisibility Triggers

Now, let me preface this by saying I'm not POSITIVE I'm right about the following point:

There are Dispel Invisiblity Triggers in the module, as oppossed to Dispel Invisibility Traps.

Now, assuming I'm right---I'd love to see these GONE. I've come across them three times, and three times they've killed one of my characters and every other player I've ever seen come across them dies with me. They seem entirely unfair as there is no way to detect, spot, or avoid them.

There is just a BAMPH, invisibility gone, and lately sixteen poisoned arrows hit you. I've lost two characters in two nights to something that as near as I can tell was entirely unavoidable.

Dispel Invis Traps should be in as of v685. (assuming they work; they'll need to be tested)

None of the triggers you found (or any that are in areas that hostile creatures can possibly get to) were part of the standard module -- they were likely put there by a DM on the fly.

I can attest that dispell invis triggers A.) exist, B.) Work, C.) are a pain! and , D.) appeared to dispell more than just Invisibility.

I lost magic weapon also and saw someone else loose stoneskin, course these could be coincidences of timing as well.

Perhaps they're just traps of... geez, a wild guess. Dispel Magic?

Well that just makes them worse. They're even more overpowering and far less fair in that regard. While I was willing to be dissuaded before about the poor balance of these since I was alone or in a tiny party all the times these traps killed me; its far worse. Even a good well prepared party would lose all its buffs and die to what is essentially a random encounter without a DM behind it to ensure at least someone survives.

I wanted to point out that the Stones and +1 dispelling effect could have been jsut perfectly timed to expire at the same time that the trigger went off.

And in response to someone saying that these are traps, they're eitherinvisible ones or ones that a level 8 rogue with an 18 search can't find.

They're magic!

This is just totally incorrect. You're confusing them with something else (dispel magic traps on a specific quest, most likely).

Metro_Pack They're magic!

Rogues can find and disarm magical traps. Kind've the advantage of being a rogue, really.

Sure they're traps? I circled the area where I activated one for quite a while (Does it even say "*click!* You triggered a trap!"?) with a search score equalling what a 16-int rogue at level 7 with maxed search has, with keen senses, but I could not manage to find it, then they finally managed to spot me and opened fire and I had to withdraw.

I demand a spellcraft check.

I'd like a spellcraft check, actually. The Invis Dispel Traps should be regular spot/search though.

Yes there IS a quest that has the traps and I know which one your talking about.

But I can specifically point out at least ONE door that I KNOW dispells invisibility upon a person with an invis potion or the spell of (imp) invis cast on them walks through it.

It's not in a quest area but a regularly exploreable area. I can't say what area specifically here as it'll ruin the surprise of it, but trust me I can go there right now and as a sneak get past it, but with an invis potion get dispelled 100% of the time.
