Would a cleric of a dead god be allowed?

I have to admit I have read over some of the paperwork for the server.... so I have to ask, if I made a cleric of Iyachtu Xvim, could he get spells?

Would I need to do an application?

I saw this thread.... https://efupw.com/efu1-forum/topic/13/131/dead-deities/index.html?amp;start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

Sure, just don't expect to get spells.

Clerics may only have a patron of those deities detailed in the Faiths of Faerun forum. This does include five that are considered dead, but not Iyachtu Xvim. With close to 150 deities to choose from in the setting, those few not known to have a following anymore were excluded from the list.

Okay, so no spells heh ;). Any objections then to just devout followers of Iyachtu Xvim? No spells, of course then.

Do followers of the dead gods listed receive spells?

A character can claim to worship anyone or anything. However, clerics only receive divine spells, abilities, and powers from those deities listed as present in the setting. This does include those considered dead, Ilbrandul being a prime example.

I think clerics of dead Gods may recieve powers from living Deities. For example, clerics of Myrkul receiving Divine Powers from Shar.

Ladocicea I think clerics of dead Gods may recieve powers from living Deities. For example, clerics of Myrkul receiving Divine Powers from Shar.
That in pnp, right?

Cultist's of dead gods are sweet, but don't expect any spells. It is however possible that through some turn of events that you could get priest levels/spells via IG events.

Ibeholder, I don't know what Lovecraft has to do with Dungeons & Dragons, but sure.

Lovecraft is the inspiration for most Aberrations in DnD, especially illithids.
