Pact with Gargauth; Legacy of Angst,

"Raise the child as your own, and at the pinnacle of her innocence; tell her the truth behind your caretaking, and make her suffer by breaking every bonds you had with this child. Then as the child's will remains crushed by your revelation, I will grant you what you desire."

And with those words, I finally sealed the blood contract I had made with the Abyssal avatar of Gargauth. Only 'he' could marvel at the sorrow and sadness, the betrayal, a father would give to a child.

With that, I was off to select my 'pupil'. My attention dropped on a young girl, an orphan apparently; her parents had been slaves and both were sacrified to Lloth, as her birth had been known. It was due to the bravery of a Dwarven ex-slave, who escaped with her and came to the town of Sanctuary. The dwarf was heavily poisoned, and put under special care by the city organization. However, the town was still looking for a caretaker for 'that' child.

A marvelous opportunity that I could not miss, and so I took the child as my student. As a 'good natured' citizen, I treated her as I would treat my own child , taught her about the gods which would care and protect her, and those that would despise and misguide her; I even mention Gargauth to her, heh, I can still remember her disdain at a divinity who revels at the betrayal of others, it made me bite my lip at the pleasure the fracture of that innocence would bring to the Lost Lord of the Pit.

...

And since then, several years have passed. The child had mature in a fully grown woman following my 'ways'. Although, the child was completly subdued by my 'false' doctrine, I still believed that deep down she felt my true desire, and it scared me sometimes. It made her tainted by a depressive nature; a shame, I had wish her to be so full of joy and pure. Nevertheless, her death will still be symbolic, the avatar confirmed it.

That day finally came, I was to confront 'my' child on the steps of the society of the Ordered Mind, a 'humourous' touch I couldnt denied to Gargauth. It was at the very moment I was to 'break' her heart that "HE" appeared... that dwarf who saved her so long... had not only survived, but also became a damnable Paladin of Tyr; As if he was aware of my intentions, he waved the child to wait for us inside; he then proceeded to a speech that sent a shiver down my spine.

-"How could you? ..." he continued louder. "How dare you!?" He then briefly pause, and send a sharp accusation toward me:

-"Tyr knows. 'I' know also, and you can be damned if ye think I'm going to let you lay a finger on the pearl you've created.."

- Fool, SHE is mine to begin with, without me, she would be dead! How would Tyr judge that?

-No! She is a follower of Tyr, and he shall protect her as I would protect any innocent from your perverted ways!

As he proclamed this last word, he launched at me, sword in hand, trying to cut me open. My martial techniques were far more superior to his crude swordmanship, so I could easily dodge the strike, and return the blow tenfold. However, I knew something was odd when a grin appeared on his face, and my assumptions were quickly confirmed as my hand passed through him! It was a simple illusion! As I turn around to peek over my shoulder, a brief noise of pierced soft tissue, and a instantaneous sharp pain to my ribs made me understand the gravity of my mistake... I was going to die.

- Consider this, fiend! Your plan has failed, and the child will never know of your true intention; I shall watch over her as any father would have until you, said the dwarf as he twisted his blade in my organs.

- Blerhgg, It doesnt... matter.. she will learn somehow... the 'truth', and my master will revel at the pain it will generate, nyehehe... enjoy the irony... as with these words, my life was no more...

But my legacy in this world remains, she will someday learn the purpose behind her creation, and I shall be laughing in the tenth layer of the abyss at her sorrow, and the pain of that... dwarf.

Sabal, yes, my young pupil, you will 'know' one day, I guarantee it.
