I don't know if it's possible, but I would like to see spells such as Magic Weapon and Bless Weapon affect an unarmed person. Probably not Darkfire and the like, because running around with your fist on fire should really hurt! Otherwise, it forces chars who would otherwise not use weapons (some monks, some followers of Ilmater, etc.) to either avoid battle with some beasts, or give in and use a weapon. Just my two cents!
Magically Enchanting Unarmed Strike
I think it should stay as it does. Sometimes, you must either avoid some beasts or pull out the weapon that lets you harm them.
I would liek to see the Spell Magic Fang be able to enhance unarmed combat - in DnD it is the one spell Monk's can have cast on them to give them an enchantment as it enhances natural weapons.
From a Purely powergamer geek perspective you can have a high level druid cast Greater magic fang for a +4 to hit and damage on a monk and then have a Mage cast permanency as well - is a lot of fun and a lot cheaper than buying a +4 weapon for a Monk
I think Arkov looked into making magic fang being able to be cast upon unarmed strike (and it does presently work on summoned creatures). I gather it was non-trivial!
Note that there are gloves available to monks that do extra damage to common monsters with damage reduction, and of course silver kamas/etc.
I think it's fine as is.
I understand all the arguments against, I just think it's one more reason for people to not take monk classes and try to fight unarmed. I will have to admit that I like things the way they are...I was just thinking about my next char being a cleric of Ilmater and wanting that char to always jump to the front of the fray. I will do it regardless if the rules change or not, If she doesn't hurt them, she doesn't hurt them. Either way I will play her the same way. Just thought I'd throw it out there and see what everyone else thought.

Sorry--that last post was from Pup. I didn't realize I was logged in as a guest (on my parent's comp). So ---- Yeah.
I don't think we need to boost monks. We have more than enough, which tells me people are willing to play them as is.
Once monks get to a certain lvl dont they get abilities that help get through an enemies damage reduction anyway?
Level 10. Lofty heights.
Monks have plenty of goodies. They don't need more. I vote no.
