Sergeants,
I would like to formally request membership in the Civil Defense League for the purposes of defending Councilor Ronus Graiden or Councilor Shane, and possibly a few others. I also reserve the right to refuse the assignment of protecting other Councilors, although privately I will confide with you that there are only 1 or 2 that I will not work for.
My skill in combat is quite adequate as a favored Faenor of Berronar Truesilver. My skills as a healer are among the best of those in Sanctuary. I have no criminal record, and am a legally certified and liscenced spellcaster registered with the Spellguard.
I have the ability to cast magics that allow me to see invisible assailants, ward doorways or area against all intrusion and dispel magical dweomers on formidable foes that may choose to assault me or my charge. I am also able to encase a Councilor in a magical field that absorbs damage similar to a covering of stone. If they have combat skill, my blessings can enhance it consideably, and I can support them as they fight off any assailants with healing magics or my trusty mace as necessary.
As the High Priest of Clan Stoutheart I also have duties to my clansman. I would request that I be able to be temporarily released from duty in the case that any of my kinsman require my immediate aid or assistance. I will not be able to guard a Councilor's door if I am informed that a Stoutheart is in mortal peril.
To counter that conflict of duty, I am able to call on a few to many Stouthearts of the Clan to assist me and the protected Councilor if necessary. I also anticipate that other members of the Clan will be interested in signing up for similar duty, and heartily encourage you to entertain retaining their services.
I am looking forward to hear your response. Normally a high priest of a dwarf clan would not deign to embroil themself in human dominated law enforcement activities, but this dangerous environment and the identities of recently elected Councilors has shown me that my help and that of my Clan is needed.
Sincerely, Rollo Stoneshield
