Finding it hard!

Hi,

I have played this server a few days now, and all i seem to do is deliver stuff round and about. Arent there something other things to do around? getting tired of just delivering :)

Well my character might have a repelling effect to many, going around bloating about himself. So maybe the easiest thing to do is kill him and start over?

It might be hard at first for a newcomer. It also can depend on the timezone you play in.

Do you yourself like to play your character, I mean other ways than the boring delivery quests? Have you tried to get along with people, to questing or to just some simple roleplay?

Characters who brag about themselves of course can ICly annoy people. Maybe he can learn it is not the best possible way to approach others, or maybe you can tone it down a bit, use it as a way to show his personality, but not all the time?

After all, this is supposed to be fun for you as a player, and if you don't find the fun with the current character, maybe a new one would be better. It is sometimes a challenge to create a character that is fun to play.

First off, welcome to the server.

Second, until you hit level 3 there aren't many 'quests' you can do. There are several though, but it's a matter of finding them, which is half the fun. I assume you've explored the city on the upper level at least, the lower level has lots of interesting things and personally I think is much more interesting from an NPC perspective.

Third, don't be afriad for your characters to ask questions about the city. Just as you are new, so is your character, and if you were in a new place you'd undoubtably be asking a lot of questions. One thing I did when I first showed up was I asked 'so whats outside of the city?' For my character, who has amnesia, this worked well both ICly and OOCly as I got to find out about the dangers without dying my first adventure.

Fourth, and I assume you've done this to some degree, take a hard look at your character. What types of people, in a very general sense, would he want to hang out with? Don't be really specific at first as you'll limit who you intereact with. Maybe you're a Lathanderite who only likes other Lathanderies. Instead of limiting yourself to just followers of Lathander, cast a broad net and say that you want only 'good' pepole to hang with. Eventually you can fold into your characters specifics as you become more familiar with with the module.

Fifth, don't be afraid to send OOC tells asking people about changes between the standard NWN and EfU. Things like Druid shapes, familiars, spell effects, class bonus' (such as Trackless Step) and so on, have all been changed on this server.

Sixth (and you've already done this) post and read the forums. There is SOOO much info on these boards that it can seem overwhelming, but just be diligent and eventually you'll eventually you'll get up to speed.

Anyway, enjoy the Mod.

The fetch and carry quests will get you to level 3, give you cash to buy equipment and hopefully some healing to help you along.

Once you're 3, examine NPCs around the City. If they have a "QUEST:" thing in their bio, they've got a quest. If the quest thing says the party size is 2 or more, it'll almost certainly be a combat quest.

There are loads of these NPCs about. It's just a case of finding a party and getting them done.

Make sure you have a citizen stone, so you can hear (or make) sendings to go do quests. However, most quests are organized in inns or by IC associates meeting up.

We have a -huge- amount of scripted quests, particularly at the low levels. They can picked out by the "Quest" in the description of the NPC. It's all a matter of IC'ly organizing a group to go do them.

I am new here as well, and this far I've not had troubbles with interacting with others at all. Don't give up! Just show to others that you are interested in interaction through RP, and people will pick up on it.

Find Adella Sannen IG, and i'll set you and a few others up with some jobs to do. :)
