The Grand Big Tigereye Recruitment Drive... Curs!

Join the Tigereye Mercenary Company! Inspired by Kotenku's Watch recruitment thread!

Because of OOC issues and the like, the Tigers are currently without a large body of active players. It's as good a faction as any and without a whole lot of members, the DMs might be a little more receptive towards allowing people with not-so-orthodox concepts and such. My current character is an ex-Tigereye who is happy to refer those who prove themselves to the Company, so you won't be depending solely on IC DM interaction to prove yourselves.

Here are a few of the perks of being a Tigereye:

* Free Resting. You can rest any time you want in a secure area, completely for free. * Persistant Storage. Carrying capacity is a big problem to us all, and Persistent Storage is one of the big perks of any DM faction. Unfortunately, this feature is currently disabled, but in the future it will return. * Free Equipment. You receive armor and a helmet upon joining the Tigers. Both carry small magical properties and are beyond what you will usually find in the shops and the like, not to mention that, if you make it in, they're free! * You get to be a member of a law enforcement agency that is all about the ass-kicking and the corruption and the binge-drinking! While this may sound somewhat humorous, what it actually means is that it allows for a great array of concepts - the people who want to play enforcers, but ones that don't simply abide by the rules will fit right in! * You're in an unique position to project yourself as an important go-to person in Lower Sanctuary. With the lack of active players, I'd suppose any new Tigers would be swarmed with fun and interesting duties to perform, not to mention the things that they could possibly wish to add to the faction on their own.

The Tigereyes Tigereyes are members of the TMC, a Company of mercenaries hired to protect and police Lower Sanctuary due to historical tensions between that district and the Watch. They number around 90 and are considered to be an elite fighting force. That said, they also have a known history of corruption, abuse of power and brutality. They believe themselves worthy of a better assignment -- Policing the streets is a boring job, unbecoming of hardened, no-nonsense warriors such as they.

Much like the Watch, the Spellguard and other factions, the Tigereyes are heavily supported by the DMs. Certain interesting NPCs exist, and they assist the faction with a number of tasks. Expect to be given assignments by your superiors every now and then, and to receive praise as well as punishment from the 'higher-ups' as you go - all depends on how well (or not!) you perform.

The chance to rise in the ranks of the Tigereyes is real. Don't expect to be in a faction where the higher levels of power are utterly unreachable by players. With the right amount of work and time invested in your effort, you might find yourself rewarded with very interesting jobs in the faction.

Requirements Any race is allowed. Although there may be exceptions pending the submission of extremely good concepts, Lawful and Good alignments will definitely have a VERY hard time explaining and justifying their work in the company. As for classes, I'd say monks, druids and Paladins are probably not allowed. We have had members of virtually every other class in the past. Bards, barbarians, wizards, fighters, fighters, fighters, fighters, fighters, rogues... Well, you get the idea!

In being in the Tigereyes, you're bound to have to deal with the occasional OOC incident, or general mistakes. You need to always be able to handle things calmly and expect to deal with some annoyances. Very commonly, new players will show up, and it's often up to the Tigereyes as much as the Watch to take them aside and explain things. These sorts of incidents aren't nearly as common with the Tigers as they are with the Watch, but they have happened in the past and chances are they will happen again.

Written reports and the like aren't a necessity. While organization and diligence in reporting will generally afford you with a slew of opportunities and ways to advance your character and their goals, I'd go as far as saying that the Tigers are known for their complete and utter disregard for reporting and filing. Do whatever you want, and as long as the Cap' doesn't shower you with some rough love, I'd say you're doing just fine!

Joining Like any faction or special privilege, joining the Tigers will require an OOC application. In joining, you're encouraged to start your character, before you even get your application approved, as the In-Character steps toward getting accepted into the Tigers can take some time. The best way to take them is to seek out characters that can help you In-game and find out what it takes. While this requirement may be a bit difficult to complete due to our current lack of players, there are characters that can and will help those who prove themselves. Also, the DMs might decide to make this requirement a bit relaxed for the time being, at least until the faction is slightly more full. So send those apps in! Go, go, go!

Conclusion Anybody with questions may feel free to approach me in IRC and send application drafts, ask for tips and the like. I'll be glad to provide any insight I can impart. Channel #EfUApps is always open and teeming with DMs ready to ask any important application questions.

PS: Special thanks to Kotenku. This thread was based off of his, and some parts that apply to both factions have been integrally used. So, yeah, thanks Kotenku!

Damn you Kiaring, I was gonna do a post like this myself! :D

It's true folks, it's all true. We are low on numbers. I might be the only official Tigereye on the roster, as I havent seen the other cat on in awhile (if not, give us a check in eh?). I have been a Tigereye for some time, and I gotta tell ya, its a lot of fun. I was just pondering today: I wonder what it is that doesnt seem appealing about the Tigereyes? We are a fun loving bash and smash group of mercs. Tensions are high and so is the excitment. There is always something to do or see. We have our share of colorful NPCs, and DM support. We have many resources at our disposal. We do things the old fashioned way, we dont have fancy wands like the Watch. And let me tell you, I wouldnt have it any other way. Dont be affraid to get your hands dirty. I really think that is one of our greatest attributes. We have to think outside of the box, and the DMs support and reward that. Kiaring and I got exp for playing "Good cop, Bad cop"! I dont know if there are official restrictions on class, but like Kia said, we've seen most types. Your options are almost limitless with the Tigers. I urge many to consider it. We do have an ititiate program called the "Tigerfangs", but due to low population right now, you might get on the fast track. Please, please, please, if you know me or not, PM me. I am more than willing to answer any questions. We need people. I am supposed to recruit IG as well, so if you have an existing character that might be interested, we take a look at em. If its a brand new cat, the DMs will take the apps. Its truely a lot of fun that people are missing out on.
