Too often gnomish gods are looked own upon as weak or powerless in the harsh and challenging environment we live in.
The same is true of the more peaceful and passive human gods.
Ask someone to hear the word and bask in the power of Garl Glittergold or Sune, and they'll scoff, saying they'd rather put their faith and exclusive prayers in someone who will help them in battle.
Do not fret, for there is a solution!
All clerics of such gods as wish it should assemble, in a very public fashion, at the Arena on a day to be chosen upon receipt of notices of interest.
I, skilled in striking vital spots on observation, will then use a practiced hand to (painlessly and quickly) attempt to slay the assembled clerics, snuffing out the life force as professionally and efficiently as possible.
The large audience watching will have ample opportunity to see how your gods turn my blade, or, once you fall, bring you back from the brink of death - or beyond! Such a practical demonstration is sure to win many converts to your side, and by doing so in a public event with other clerics at your side, the spiritually wavering may comparison shop for a faith with ease.
In the event that a god in question does not grant immediate protection, or delays in resurrection of his faithful servant, I will lay down precious gems upon the (temporary, no doubt) corpse to honour the god.
Paladins are of course welcome to join the festivities, though they are meant chiefly to correct the false perceptions that servants of gods who do not encourage or do not often help in fighting back are of limited use in our common environment.
Therefore, should they wish to join, they are kindly asked to do so in clerical manner of the old style, wielding only the symbol of their deity (or the god's favored weapon) and an appropriate clerical robe.
I understand there may be some legal issues involved, and encourage the Watch and Spellguard to let me know how best to work around them. If not possible, perhaps the authorities of Lower Sanctuary may be more amenable?
Yours in good cheer,
