....is the fact that no one uses crazy ass names for their characters, for example:
~~D00mzD4y~~
M-33-T_{uR}_m4k3r
::EVERMEET GOD::
and my favorite of all time (and I don't care how good this kid is at Unreal Tournament)
Fatal1ty
sorry but it's nice to not have to try and figure out how 'cool' the person is first when you meet them in game.
I'm just glad that the playerbase here doesn't try that crap with their characters.

Sometimes people do, but that's what the DMs are for.

Yeah nice not to see the goofy names but I still see the popular literary names pop up from time to time, which I don't mind as a crutch provided your just pinched for a name (happens) and not actually trying to be Rand Al'Thor, Lord Rahl, or a few from other books I have seen pop up. Thankfully no infamous drow fanboy names yet.
It would still be nice to see some sort of physical description. Even if it's the base NwN one, it's nice to be able to differentiate between chunky gnomes and chunky halflings, gold and shield dwarves, sun and moon and "copper" elves.
Even minimal IE: Blond mussed up hair, green eyes, tall and thin, with just a hint of pointed ears and arched eyebrows betraying an elven heritage.
Other then that, yeah nice to see no Eye Pwned Joo, griefer Fighter/Monk of "Insert Evil because it's cool to be Evil God Here."
It gives a bit of something to work with, even with the basic NwN description. I figure if folks can either Delete the Whole thing, they can toss in a line or two. I've even been happy with the plain old PM for details as that is Inviting to interaction. As opposed to the infamous "RP to Find Out!" Which is a bit snooty and offsetting to a lot of folks.
Even the few all in French, German, or Italian are at least a challenge and far more preferable to nothing.

Theres a classic response to "Rp to find out" description. Walk up ic'ly and say "Excuse me sir what do you look like?"

Yeah...On another server, I actually saw a black-skinned elf named Drizzt..weilding two scimitars!
Come on!
This server's playerbase and DMs are definitely the real deal. Kudos to all.

We've probably had 20-30 Drizzt Do'urdens since the server started. They just get popped to the OOC DM area and politely asked to remake. Other famous character names get used sometimes, but small, obscure borrowing is usually okay... although if it's a really famous name, we ask them to change.

What most fail to realise is that weilding two scimitars makes you suck, and if you go around caliming to be a great swordsmen on any server, you'll find alot of characters (particulerly evil ones) will be more than happy to prove you wrong (the hard way).

I don't remember Odie, but I do remember Garfield and Nermal.
Nermal actually was around for quite a while though I haven't seen him in a couple weeks.
Still I remember when City of Heroes got sued by Marvel for not only allowing people to use trademarked names, but then also happen to have all the customizable look for your superhero......the character creation system was SO good that you could duplicate just about any hero in known comic books, to a T.
So just be glad EfU doesn't have those legal hurdles to leap over because of names and appearances.
