Timing of Event on EFU

Hey There,

I unerstand the Ball is taking place as I write this message - wich makes it Thursday evening in the US and Friday morning in Australia.

I would like to make a plea that these sort of events be held on Friday nights and Saturday nights US time which is Saturday & Sunday mornings respectively in Australia.

There are a number of Aussies who are at work that just cannot possible make these events when they are held during weekday nights US time.

Likewise with the ceremony the Dwarves put together for their fallen comrades - I know I would love to have attended it but again as it falls during work hours here there was no chance.

I understadn that not all events can be held on Friday and Saturday nights but if an effort to stage things like Preludes, Server wide events etc could be made then there would be greater participation from this side of the globe.

Cheers

What about us on GMT times? Either way your leaving out some people. As is I have to stay up till all hours of the night for events and I can't go on any if I have college or work. I think your change would make it roughly 03:00 for us GMTers which is when I'm usually already tired and thats VERY late evening for some US people too!

True always some people are not goign to make it - but if you stage the big events on weekends - more people are able to plan for it and change sleep pattterns etc to accomodate the event.

Cheers

I slated this on this day because that was when Thrawn said he could do it. Then his computer melted and the date was set already.

I didn't know the Dm's schedule and this even twas so hard to plan.

I had to coordinate so many things ICly and OOCly with the dm's that it was a headache. But one that had a big pay off as there was an ulterior motive to the ball that worked perfectly!

But next time I'll try and get a DM on a more friendly time for aussies. My apologies.

Hey Mate,

I understadn how difficult it is to organsie - this was meant as a criticism just a request that as events are planned to keep in mind if possible the wider audience :D

By all sounds it was a great success would love to have been there - keep them coming.

Cheers

I will try. I like the aussie players

gotta come up with a new event now!

Make the Ball a Bi-Annual event

pffft.....you can plan the next one then!

Akevitt will plan one, Just for the paladins. Evil shows up at it's own risk.

Argueably though, I agree with the Oz crowd. Major events should be planned in those times. When your dealing with a world timezone, better to land the event in the time that the most can attend.

For the dwarf event, 'twas very difficult with me and my time schedule, espceially with Gencon approaching, and my noraml "3 jobs" work schedule, to make an appearance for just an hour. For those poor folks living on the other end of the world and having to deal with giant sized rats called Kangaroos, and a less friendly time zone then US Central, I feel bad.

But console yourselves in the fact that One, you got better beer, and two, the women of Oz are hawt as all hell.

I hate living in aus, for game related things XD

Thats always made me wonder what it would be like to play Efu in US...i mean less lag? near instantanous response or is NWN engine built to keep all pings equal?

The only good way to plan for events is pick a time that falls in line with the most players as possible and then go with it.

Or maybe there could be a DM or three on the "other side" of the globe who can get events going. Just a thought.
