Despite being in alpha, every day that we have the server up I'm delighted with what takes place.
If you have any particular favorite moments (great RP from another character, exciting quest, or whatever else) I'd love to hear about them.

I've had great fun every single time I have logged on so far, but one particular experience rests a notch higher than the rest... I, Beggar's paladin, Ambrose (also a paladin) and BadOmen's scout sent out on a dangerous mission to rescue the *spoiler* from the mephits in the ruins, while Metro (and Howland too, I think) watched from their exhalted clouds, DM wands a'ready. Several things made this experience the most fun I've had on the server to date.
To begin with, both of my companions were excellent roleplayers, who weren't just there to finish the quest and get loot and xp, but really took time to add those small details that turns a mindless kill-rush into an enjoyable experience. Secondly, since we had me, a pansy mage, two level 2 paladins (with no magic weapons, since I'm dumb like that and haven't gotten it yet) and a level 2 ranger/other sneaky class, we died. Horribly. At the first encounter. And that is when hilarity ensued. Poor Ambrose ended up in the fugue before things calmed down, but then Metro possessed the imps and quasit standing over our poor, bleeding selves. They first, allthewhile saying things that made me laugh out loud IRL even as my character lay there with -9 hp, searched through Beggar's pack, and proceeded to crudely heal him with his own herbs. Meanwhile, the Quasit cast invisibility on both me and our scout, as we lay there bleeding to death. As the paladin got up, he first bashed a bit at the imp nearest to him ("Quasit: What fuck?" :D), which flew away along with his buddies. When he finally located our invisible bodies, Metro gave him a gambler's choice: Invisible surgery! So the paladin brought his knife out, went over to the scout, and got told that he should make a heal check, and if he rolled anything less than high, she'd die. Beggar, the lucky guy, rolled a 20, and the scout lived. Meanwhile, I lay at -9 hp, invisible, and knew that unless he managed to roll another 20 or similar, I'd die. So I was slightly nervous. But I neededn't have worried, since apparently Beggar's a mean dice rollin' machine, and managed to score a 19 on the second try.
So there we were, all near death. I patched us up a bit with my herbs, and then, with the safety of the *spoiler* in our minds, we pressed on. Another memorant scene was played out just a while later, when BadOmen scouted 4-5 mephits behind a corner, and the paladin promptly began to negotiate with them, by exchanging shouts around the corner. Meanwhile, I was trying, in hissed whispers, to convince him to turn around and get more help, since we were outnumbered, outskilled and outeverything else, but being the noble knight he is, he wouldn't listen to that mumbo jumbo, but instead somehow managed to get the imps to back off. We continued, and soon reached the last room, where two mephits charged us. Somehow, with a timely crit, one of them fell to the ground, but the other one soon proceeded to knock both paladin and scout to the ground, leaving my poor old man mage alone with the mephit. I stumbled back a bit, desperately slung away a spell of sleep, and to my great joy it hit, leaving me to coup-de-grace the thing with my staff. I then used my very last bandages to get my companions up again.
The last part of the story was equally fun, as we encountered the *thing*, and RPed putting it out of function, and even getting to jam a lever in the process. Then we merrily limped out (except not very merrily) and went to bed.
According to research, good RPing companions, great DM interaction, lots of near-death encounters, non-standard actions and solutions, hilarity and grave seriousness entwined, all added up equals a pretty damn good experience, and that is what we got. So thank you Beggar and BadOmen, and thank you Metro (as well as Howland if you stuck around 'til the end), this rocked.
An Assassination attempt was made on Alakatar by about 3 people in a small Inn room. He invised and ran out, then ran for the door to the Tunnels in the Crone. He opened it and moved to stand in the corner. Half of the attackers headed into the tunnels and left him in the Inn. Plus, a DM gave me props for it :P
Was awesome.
Plus, my sewer-wide battle with Ganden, ending with a sweet diatribe on his behalf, me fearing him as he was about to execute me and me running like a pansy and yelling assorted swear words at his fleeing back side. ;)
Hmmm, haven't had much of time spent on EftU, but some of the experiences are really distinctive:
Testing Musachi's quest - the consistency of the story, the surprises and the well-stricken balance between the archetypal and the innovative, and the last mysterious encounter that still puzzles me as to its true nature.
Hunting rats in the sewers being led by crazy Mashia (LaBrea's character) - doing 75% of the quest with 2hp and a debilitating disease and surviving was a constant stream of adrenaline.
WP's "mysterious employer" quest - it was as if a yawning pit with dozens of plot threads opened, a vast world of the unknown, waiting for someone to explore.
The first meeting with an illithid and the braincake orgy.
I believe my favorite moments so far have to do with Aeron quests for acceptance by his diety. The DMs where awsome and the people I interacted with on the way where a lot of fun even though they didnt have the script to so speak. -dholt5
Haven't played that much in efu yet, but I had fun first quest with a group with my character who had no armor, only a dagger and a sling as weapons and no healing whatsoever. I was a bit concerned how it would turn up, but since it was IC to go along with them I did. And had a great time. My PC even made friends there, and got an armor, shield and sword afterwards, paying only what she had and the rest was provided by other PC (thank you LaBrea and your character Sabel).
Inquisitor Plus, my sewer-wide battle with Ganden, ending with a sweet diatribe on his behalf, me fearing him as he was about to execute me and me running like a pansy and yelling assorted swear words at his fleeing back side. ;)
Seconded. I have never seen so many rats get in the way of a battle.
That, and a completely insane Musachi/Crosswind quest, in which Ashur escaped to the surface, killed a dragon, and caused a Rothe stampede. All in one quest!
Favorite moment to date actually stretched out into a good 20 or 30, as Metropakt (Howland I believe you were there as well for a time) turned the missing children quest into a truly enjoyable experience. Allowing me to roll for a lot of different things normally not seen in the game made it seem more like a PnP adventure, which I truly enjoy, and allowed me to use attributes in game (persuading the *blank* to leave, performing dagger surgeries/heal rolls to heal dying party members, and even letting me roll to jam the *blank* at the end with my dagger.) All in all it wasn’t just the standard DM “spicing up” a quest, but a DM interaction which allowed for my character to attempt a lot of different things not normally seen in game, and accomplish goals with a little bit of flair.
I appreciate the interaction and the fun time that was had. You all did a wonderful job.
So far I have had many good moments on the server. From DM interaction to plotting against every character I have met. It's been wonderful, but the best time I had was when it first went up. Everyone was starting right there on the same level as everyone else.
The adventure was held by Howland and Metro for the most part that I can remember. We went out in search of Intryzz's Inn, after the exciting fun filled adventure of hunting rats, searching the spider caves, battling Grizabella, and roaming the underdark. While searching a system of caves I found myself lost, when all of a sudden I see John Fullhart run past me telling me to run. I stood there motionless and in fear as a hook horror *Seems to be old and decrepit* sniff me up and down snapping it's beak around me. It then ran off, allowing me to find the rest of the group.
Then the most horrible experience of Intryzz's Inn. I was asked by the thrall to stuff napkins into my bleeding wounds so I wouldn't bleed on the floor anymore. Intryzz spent several minutes teasing the poor monkeys that stumbled into his Inn. John Fullhart then wanted to test his skills in the Arena there, and Intryzz was all for the show.
Mindi, my character, is sitting there talking as Intryzz summons in the first creature for John to battle (to be honest, those chairs are far to close to that damned cage anyways. Meh). Metro summons in the same *old and decrepit* Hook Horror. What happens nexted? Poor defenseless not brothering anybody Mindi, is the first thing that Hook Horror finds. I remember seeing the Hook Horror attack me and then it saying dead under my name, while I'm still sitting down in the chair. I was quick enough to emote *Falls out of her chair face down*
I almost died laughing that night. It may not be the best RP moments of my character, or the skin of my teeth battles won. That moment there though, I will always remember. To everyone that was there, thanks for all the fun. To the DM's that ran the mad house, thanks for the memories. :)

One of my favourite moments was the showdown in the crone, my character had nothing to gain so he simply went and drank ale, while there was a true brawl in one of the private rooms.
Later, when the bouncer started smacking people and making demands from the victors, it go really funny. :P
But, you can't really pinpoint anything favourite really.. because it's all THAT good :P
I just enjoyed sitting in the tavern with Fish and Blanthis' characters while a DM posessed bartender tended to us. The immersion was orgasmic. Next time I'm making sure I have Kleenex(tm) nearby.
I'm loving it all. I've been doing things pretty much non stop so far. It's awsome.
Orgasmic is the word. I soil my underwear.. EACH time.
Calculor killing my first character was awesome.
Its more the flavor of the server, there is a big mystery--at least several big mysteries and I've always loved them. Its great fun to realize that there is a good reason to risk escaping Sanctuary---finding out the entire city is basically under some strange, dark, mysterious curse or something is a definite hint to characters that they should run.
And since I like to solve mysteries, seeing the onion that is EftU's mystery, I'm going to enjoy myself here emmensely figuring out where the old snirvneblin went and why, what's in that pit, etc etc.
By far, my absolute favorite moment on the server was my very first. My very first conversation was with an NPC Spellguard, as Alexander and him exchanged insults for well over 10 minutes.
I'd have to say everytime I've logged in thus far has proven to be memorable in one manner or another.
Although, the first time I logged in stands out by virtue of the fact that the first thing I manage to get embroiled in, while still in rags even, were some underhanded political machinations.
Thanks Howland.
Detecting evil in the sleeping Pyrimo to discover the DC to resist the evil was 46.
Out cold.
I just had an enjoyable experience with Starry Ice's character whom I can't remember the name of.
He got blinded and deafened during a quest, his character thought he was dead. He probably spent 5 minutes talking to himself, how disappointing the afterlife was. Wondering if he could sit down, wondering why death wasn't more painful. . . then wondering why his arm hurt all those time as my character prodded him with his staff again and again. Surely, the afterlife is a droll, boring and immensely painful place.
Ladocicea Detecting evil in the sleeping Pyrimo to discover the DC to resist the evil was 46.Out cold.
Watching that happen is pretty high on my list of favourite moments.
Wonderful RP being done with detect evil that I've seen - far more worthwhile than clicking the button and reporting a party member as Mister Naughty Pants.
Killing Thayans was pretty fun. Nothing like besting a fully armored fella in nothing but rags, and with his own halbred to boot.
During a trip through the mines cawila and I got a healthy dose of underdark reality. We were both in desperate need of healing and there is little room for desperation down here.
3 potions of cure minor wounds, baby...
I suppose I should add the fact that we didn't really even need the potions that cawila bought. That is my fault of course, for not really speaking up much about the healing crystal that I found in a cave. :D I guess that the many extraneous comments that Garr makes might drown out the important information that he sometimes shares.
After I horrid failure at commerce, a little prodding got us moving in the right direction.
I should also add that another great experience in EFU was during a hunt for the infamous "Ratman." It was during this time that I found a 'strange rod' that had some nice little healing properties. Garr discovered through a little fiddling that when you poke someone with the rod...it heals them.
I can easily say that each of my experiences in EFU have been really enjoyable.
My first character had a little bad luck and ended up naked in Sanctuary (server crashed before I could equip myself and left me naked in Sanctuary), but as soon as I got some clothes on, I ended up in the rat-man chase. And after I got up to rest, I stumbled across a map to some secret (a nice, DM controlled guy sold it) but got pulled into another quest before I could find out if the map was fake or not. I had some local crashes after that, so never got to find out if the map is useful or not, though :)
So I still have something to look forward to for my second time on the server.
Longish list, but without spoilers:
* Playing patty-cake with a puddle (thanks, Metro).
* Complimenting an old man's aim in Lower Sanctuary as he pelted a party member with feces (thanks, Cross, NC and whoever else was pulling the strings for that whole quest).
* Debating the shelf life of slaad tongue with a svirfneblin trader (thanks, Howland + Mr.Cheez).
The fun of these interactions was greatly enhanced by how naturally PCs to respond to NPC attention. But also:
* Surviving the Thayan prelude (thanks, Thrawn), entering Sanctuary with nothing but clothing that covered and winding up, thanks to some kind-hearted PCs, with a rather well-equipped "throwaway" character ... whom I can't now bear to throw away! That was amazing of you.
