Groxar Galuch -- Warrior, Sell Sword.

This is the first entry in a journal that has been pieced together with Rothe leather book binding and campaign papers found strewn around the streets of Sanctuary. The ink and quill appear to be of good quality however.

Well, I am alive. Where to start. I have been in this town called Sanctuary for about a week. I am still not sure what has happened and I am less sure of where I am at. Noone else seems to know what hell we're in as well.

The last thing I remember about the surface: A band of head hunters and myself are chasing our bounty prize through a hilly forest. We tracked him down to one of many caves. We were slowing and cautiously coming down one hill and saw the entrance and that was it.

The first thing I remember about here: I am lying on my back. It's cool and slightly humid. It's dark but that doesn't matter. I can see fine except for the cloud of dust that fills the tunnel. I'm in a cave. No wait. It's a mine. There are a couple of other people I don't know around. Dwarf, human. The damn human we were chasing. Well no time for that now...They look just as confused as I do.

I have something in my hand. A pick. I look around as the dust is starting to settle. I see a huge slab of what appears to be the tunnel ceiling collapsed on top of some sort of creature in strange robes. He looks like a small octopus attached to a lithe, humanoid body. His tentacles flail in all directions as do one of his undamaged limbs. This goes on for several moments. Death throes. I've seen it all too many times.

After we all stop looking in wonder we all turn to look at each other. "Let's get the nine hells out of here!" I say. The dwarf is quick to tell us what we need to do. We move up the tunnel over the rubble and the earth starts shaking again. The tunnel holds this time with the exception of some flecks of rubble falling. "We got tuh git owtuh 'ere, NOW!" the dwarf bellows out. We make it up the tunnel. The tunnel is linked to other side tunnels via a larger main tunnel. The dwarf tells us which way to go and that he is "sure as stone" that going up will get us out. We move. 40 feet up we hear.....

Some things just never change.

My stupid Orc ruse seems to be playing along fairly well. I hope that it can play to my advantage as it has in the past. It's always interesting to see how people will try to take advantage of you if they think you're stupid. A couple of people I've met:

Some beggar gave me all kinds of food and various trinckets when I first arrived. He was friendly human. I'll have to get his name.

A human priest of Bane.. what a joke! Trying to convert me to his cause. He is persistent to be sure and hells I kindof like him. He gave me some items and potions. That's a good start. Hopefully this will work out in my favor. And if it works out in his as well, then great for him. Oh yeah. He challenged me to a duel for a pair of magic boots. He was hard to hit, but after I went ballistically mad he went down.

Yet another human priest has attempted to sway me to become a follower. This one is a follower of Umberlee, The Bitch.. uh I don't remember her title. That's one thing I didn't fake with him at least. Also persistent and thinks me an idiot.

Arthan. A Priest or Knight of Tyr I believe. This man treats me with respect and even though I act like an idiot, he doesn't treat me like one. One of his fellow knights is also respectful as well.

Meriam. A very friendly nice little hin thief. She showed me around the mines and took me to the Blue Mushroom and back. A band of head hunters could always use a good rogue. I'll keep her in mind.

Neville. The jury's out on him. I don't like him. But he did sell me a couple of things at a fair price. He probably stolem. No wait. Maybe I do like him after all.

Wild human female: Gods bless her little wild heart! She took me up on a threat as dumb Groxar and beat the living hells out of me! The Tigereyes (a mercenary group hired to guard the slums) have broke the fight up. [underlines following sentence] I may have to go see those Tigereyes. Get in good with them. Their information and contacts would be useful. Anyway. We went to the arena and fought. She kicked my arse like no other! Tougher than any orc tribesman I've ever seen. We had drinks and talked later. She's a troublemaker though. Picked fight an elf. Of course I had to play along.

Sugnun, dwarf fighter. Another respectable fellow. He fights good and treats me well. He is a good dwarf and fighter. I almost killed him in the ruins when he was enchanted and began attacking people. I tried to knock him down but wound up nearly cleaving his head off. Healing magic stopped his bleeding and healed him up. It would have been a shame to lose him to a faulty blow.

I have finally gotten enough money to buy decent equipment, supplies and a nice set of evening wear. Most people were amused at an 'uncivilized' half breed wearing nobleman's clothes and I think the tailor used 5 yards of material but I played along with them and didn't let them think any different.

No more works will be written about Groxar as he has passed on.

Thanks for reading.
