The attempted escape from the under dark!

Hey people... some of you might of heard about a certain quest. Details are scarce and vague. We can say(and I wrote this down so I would not misquote) "We made it to the end" whatever that means.

What I can say is this is the best experience I have ever had online in NWN. EFU is going to seem a little less vibrant after this.... because I do not think I could ever have an experience which tops it.

1. The faithful party leaves the city!

2. The faithful party boards a boat!

3.The boat, leaves! Magus Kharant has some parting words of wisdom for Tarnis.

4. Glug, glug, glug glug.

5. By Mystra this place is filthy.

6. Someone decides to get gobbler some rats while we are busy trying to escape from the underdark.

7. Things.... well. Damn. Spoilerific. A screenshot of someplace, somewhere, doing something.

8. We open a door to find 4 dozen moderatly difficult undead on the other side. Kharant winds up, he shoots..... he scores! Thay wins the world series! We had a detailed conversation on the comparative merits of magic.

This once and for all(not really) settles the argument of strongest school, evocation. Buffs may be nice and summons are dandy... but every so often you meet an obstacle, a number of enemies SO overwhelming you could never hope to escape, fight past or sneak by..... then one and only one thing will do: Fireball!

9. Is this the end of our hero, Magus Kharant?

My 3 favorite screenshots which I can post, to follow

10. Drow diplomacy. Part 1. Note the Drow-Animal’s condescending attitude.

11. Drow diplomacy. Part 2. The drow animal continues it's agressive display. Note the hairs raising on its neck.

12. Thayan Diplomacy. Part 1. Now boys and girls, do you see the distinct difference between Drow, and Thayan diplomacy? The obvious superiority of Thayan diplomacy is firmly established.

13. This is the end…. the end my friend the end… this is the end…. my only friend the end….

14. I really wish I had a cooler final screenshot. I had to edit out… well, everything. Congratulations you have dot dot dot. Who said it, what are they congratulated on? Who knows.

Oh... and however far we got..... we did not bring, a single cleric. Our ENTIRE magical support were 2 wizards and if I had to guestimate our partys alignment.... I would place it slightly into the evil range. It was VERY close, almost true neutral. Not hugely evil, but definitely, evil by a slight margin. It only got more evil as time went on due to monster-related attrition.

My parting words of advice for this post.... if you think you have a chance to get to the surface, take it. If it means your character might die and be retired, take it. If you know your character will die and be retired, take it anyway. Nothing could top the excitment and fun of the quest or the other quests which I am sure are out there and similar.

Most fun ever. Thanks again DMs! :) And excellent screenies Vesa. I'll put some up later.

My favourite screenie is the last one.

Everything about that area was amazing.

In the end, they found Mandarin reclining on a beach chair made of illithid skins and drinking a cup of ichor.

Cool. I -have- to make a character that actually wants to escape the underdark. Great screenies

Yes, that was without a doubt one of my best experiences on EfU. A long, hard, entertaining quest, with the ultimate reward. Great screenies too.

Big thanks to the DMs.

Yep, much kuddos.

Who forgot heal kits? :P

Hey, I brought two boxes full of heal kits plus over a hundred assorted potions. I was prepared. Now I don't know who wasn't prepared, but... ;)
