Personalized and Sealed Letters to Each Councilor (PC/NPC)

Dear Esteemed Councilors,

As you may have heard, I am trying to organize a Ball for the town's citizens. Councilor Geigne has offered the Great Hall outside your offices in the Town Hall as the location.

To thank you for both his and the councils generosity in this, I would like to cordially and formally invite each of you to be our VIP guests at the ball.

I will arrange to have a special seating area for you and your esteemed guests to enjoy the fine wines, ales and performances of the evening.

Additionally, if you care to, I would like to extend an offer for each or all of you to speak at the event.

The event is slated for 6 days from now in the evening. Your attendence would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Tarnis Westwind

//OOC the even is supposed to happen with the help of Thrawn and Arkov Thursday, July 20th in the evevning EST (-5 GMT)

Mister Westwind,

I am greatly pleased at the expenses you have taken for a high level of propriety. I will make every effort to attend, though I must beg your pardon as my duty as a physician calls me at the most unlikely and unwanted times.

Also, I fear that it is imperative that we talk before the ball, the sooner the better. This is nothing that should hinder you, but it is most definately something you need to know.

Councilor Ward

*hastily, but cohesivly written*

Councillor Ward,

Thank you for your committment, as tenative as it might be due to your duties. I look forward to seeing you there.

As far as seeing you goes, the next chance that I become available, I will make a sending for you so that we may speak.

Tarnis Westwind

Councillor Gaeseric,

Your bluntness is appreciated and your inquiry welcomed.

As it stands the event is completely voluntary and near as I can tell no cost will be incurred by the city government agencies.

I have asked that a donation bowl be available with a 10 coin donation by attendees being requested to cover the cost of the few expenses I had. The remainder goes towards the city budget and funds for boosting the Watch.

For the most part the setup of tables, chairs and other fixtures will be done by the dwarves of the Stoutheart Clan, entertainment will be provided by local bards, beverages and foods will be handled by local bartenders (items at the drinks booth will be purchased by the patrons, not subsidised by the city in any manner), and the posters were paid for on my own.

The vast majority of patrons will, no doubt be the adventurers in the city, who are more than capable of keeping the peace if needed, though having a stationary member of the watch outside the party would be good in case an arrest is needed. This should not be a problem as there are several watchmen already stationed in the Town Hall.

Additionally, according to Councillor Geigne, the space we are using for this event, has yet to be used for any thing at all......ever! He thought that such a large unused space should be put to use to continue the justification for having it.

Finally, I think that with recent tensions growing between upper and lower, that this event might act as a peace offering....a way to possibly heal some of the wounds and close the gap that has formed with citizens of upper, lower and even the sewer city. We are after all in this predicament in the Underdark together.

Plus with so much strife and angst in the city on such a continual basis, I feel that having an occasional celebration is not terribly unheard of or oulandish. Plus, as I've stated above, it will cost little, if anything at all, to the city. And in fact, might actually generate some revenue for badly needed security measures.

I hope that you see my point of view on these topics and that you will grace us with your presence at the event in 2 days time.

Graciously,

Tarnis Westwind Sanctuary Ball Organizer.
