I've been seeing a lot of newer players make mistakes recently and immediately begin just loads and loads of apologies, especially to me personally.
Guys! Don't worry about it! We're all here to have fun, and little blips of errors, misclicks, computer problems... who cares? Things happen, just laugh about it and keep on truckin'! Believe me, we ALL make mistakes.
A side clarification: It has also happened a few times recently that other players have thought my Councilor PC was a DM, or held some authority past the city's power, OOC power. Nay nay sirs! We councilors are just regular players who've been given a really sweet opportunity via the election process.

I've gotten that a bunch too lately. The way I see it is that they're at least trying to be aware that this server is probably much more serious about it's story and immersion than most others and they are just trying to fit in.
Kudos to them for at least being aware of it.
But I'll say this, the setting and playerbase can seem intimidating to people new to the server. The level of detail and seriousness that the server exudes definately is apparent from the moment you first create a character. Maybe they're afraid we're all stuck up or mean?
Yikes!

I have RPd with a few new characters and visitors to the EFu and have received comments that whilst peopel are nice they are very cliquey or tend to stick to their own groups and don;t welcome new players in.
For my part I keep a couple of reserve characters that I bring in to help new peoepl through some of the lower leve quests and try to introduce them to groups that they can work with.
I would ask for the older players here to keep an eye out for newer players and take soem time out from their own plots to the help the new guys along or even just to do a little one on one RP with the new characters so the new guys havea chance to tell their story and background - this way we have the best chance to turn newcomers into old timers 8)
