I've been thinking for a while and i belive that a vampire sub-race to humans would be interesting if they could turn other PC's into vampires ( a bit like the way the watch or spellguard can imprison people, subdual followed by a "biting" action? ) RP wise. I know that this could annoy some people, but if we had some form of cure to go with it, and a search/dm of some type quest to get it, it could be an entertaining idea. Of course, the numbers would have to be limited (say 1 PC or DM controlled NPC to sart with, and then gradually increasing slowly).With the fact vampires have a domination look, there could be an entire underground cult that could develop following the arrival after the first vampire. I think that an application to make your char to be a vampire should be used for an arrival of a vampire, and for those who don't want their char's to be bitten should tell the DMs/ vampire playing PCs or those willing to have their char's become this undead do the same so that no one is unpleased by mistakes. We could even finish it off with the eradication of the vampires. I find one problem with this though : can any other race apart from humans become vampires?. This does have one advantage tough : the fact that numbers will definitely be limited. Of course these ideas are only propositons. I am free to any ideas to add/change or remove some from these i put down

Vampires as PC's won't happen. Several reasons.

1) It's ECL +8. On a server with a 10 level as the highest level reashed, starting out as the equivalent of a 10th level character is just an unfair advantage. Giving this to someone after they gained a few levels would be even worse.

2) Scripting changes to support this are huge. The number of spells and skills that would need to be modified is surprisingly big. Anything with positive or negative damage for starters. All healing spells. Any spell meant to have an effect on undead. Turning. The time required to put this into the module so that one or two players could play vampires would much better be used coding things that will benefit a much wider audience.

Basically, the DM staff discussed that advantages and disadvantages of this, and decided it was a bad move for the server.
