Levels of drunkeness

Different levels of drunkenness to give the dwarves some extra fun! If you drink three alchoholic drinks, you become tipsy, and half of your s's etc. become slurred. You drink seven drinks, you're drunk, and all your s's etc. are slurred, and when not doing anything you're character automatically goes into the 'exhausted' emote state. You drink twelve drinks, you become smashed, stagger greatly unless sitting, slurred speach, and you get attack and damage penalties, aswell as an all around skill penalty; aswell as a charisma and dex hit. You drink twenty drinks and you become, 'Dangerously intoxicated'. All of the above, and you take an hp hit, become poisoned, and have a chance of being diseased. Anybody like it? I think it sounds a bit cool, and I've seen the slurred speach scripts on other servers so I think it'd work.

PS And for being drunk, you have a slight chance of throwing up, for smashed you have to make a will roll to not throw up, and when you're dangerously intoxicated, you throw up every 8 seconds, until it's done it five times.

EDIT: Maybe after a certain ammount of game hours, you get a hangover, penalty to wisdom and concentration, as well as semi-permanent some-odd health damage hit until you rest or something.

Most people can and do roleplay the effects of intoxication already.

I think it's easier to let people RP it themselves. This would take coding time that would better be devoted to other things. We have a very limited number of scripters.

Just for your information as well Smoogles.....there was a party that a councilor threw one time and despite my paladins wishes, the PC Councilor continued to drink and drink and drink and drink and drink.

It got to the point where while the character was acting more and more drunk (puking, smashing chairs, hitting other people) the character didn't suffer any physical effects of drinking that much that fast.

A DM ended up showing up and adding in placeables like trash, and broken chairs, et al and eventually did deliver the health hazards to the player and in the end......permadeath. From alcohol poisoning.

So I don't really think we need a system (though I think that perhaps 'blacking out' after X number of drinks is appropriate) I don't think we need a sliding scale per se.

Maybe the community feels different, but thats just my two cents.

yes blacking out does sound like a good thing to put in, maybe add a fort save in to show the master drinkers from the weaklings

Just RP the alcohol effects. Scripting it wouldn't add much to the server really.
