Did this quest today for the first time.

1). Only found three corpses, which struck me as very low for a reward unless its entirely random and that is the lowest chance of luck.

2). Tomas doesn't let you finish the quest.

This was very sad for us, as the guy with me died a bloody death and we used a LOT of potions, bags, supplies to survive.

I may have fixed this. It's a bit complicated though.

I will likely go through and completely redo it at some point, but it should reward people as of v.646

Number of corpses is completely random. I think on average, it should give more than 3. It's also possible to spawn jewelry worth decent cash, although most of the jewelry is cheap.
