*Letter to councilor Geigne*

Master Geigne,

I have previously sent a letter addressed to the Council as a whole, apparently that is a sure way for it to be misplaced. So I am placing this directly into your able hands, so that my energies may be given to the right direction.

The Church of the Morninglord here in Sanctuary would like to host a series of events celebrating the talents of its citizens, and to promote friendly competition and comraderie in general. I would like for you or some other more suited for the purpose to sponsor or at least direct me to the correct persons to help me to achieve these purposes.

The Arena seems to the the best place to host these events, although the Town Hall may be adequate as well.

The first contest that my Church would like to sponsor is a simple archery contest. The contestants will pay a small fee, say 50 gold and get a turn to shoot at a small, difficult target to see how many times they can hit it consecutively. The winner will get half the purse, and the Church will get the remainder after expenses have been paid of course.

So Councilor, I am formally enquiring if we could lease the Arena or the Town Hall for this purpose. If you or any other Council Members would be interesting in judging this contest, and perhaps some advice on the necessity of hiring extra security such as Off-Duty Watchman.

The people of this town struggle every day for their very survival, and such events bring excitement and the light of happiness to their faces, if even for a brief while.

I eagerly look forward to your response.

Dawnbringer Aric Willemson Pastor, Church of Lathander c/o Spencer at the Rock Bottom Inn

Several days after receiving this letter Jacob finally finds it on his messy desk. "Another letter?" he whines. He mutters something about hiring a secretary before replying:

Dawnbringer Aric Willemson,

I am glad that you are interested in entertaining our citizens. We can use more events such as this one.

The Town Hall would be an unsuitable place for an archery contest. However, the Arena is an excellent place to do so. The Arena is a public facility. You may use it without the Council's permission at any time.

As for added security, you would have to inquire with the Watch on that. I am sure they could spare a man on patrol for you.

And I may be interested in judging your contest. Just give me the time you plan on hosting this and I'll get back to you.

Best of luck. Your councilor, -J. Geigne

After writing the letter he glances through some more paperwork. He realizes that the above letter was his last for the day. He yells "YES!" and decides to take the rest of the day off.
