Friendly Reminder to Faction Players -

If you're approached by someone who is interested in joining the DM faction you belong to, please don't tell them to find a possessed NPC. That's really not something we'd like to see happen.

Instead, take the time to test them, to RP with them, and to interact with them. Give them a task. Ask them to prove themself in some way. Figure out if this is someone your character would want in the faction. Take them along with you on quests, patrols, or whatever else you plan on doing. Feel free to send a DM tell saying that you're doing or requesting help in some way, but please do not ask us to possess some important NPC superior to talk to the character while your PC heads off questing.

If your character decides they don't like them or trust them, that's perfectly fine. Tell them, IC, about this.

If your character decides they want this person in their faction, let us know! Make a recomendation on the forums. Also, please make it clear that you're recomending someone, rather than just indicating that you met someone.

Remember -

Factions are much more fun for everyone if they're active and populated. Recruitment is an excellent way to have fun and to ultimately improve your own playing experience. The only way factions will ever be successful if are the members involved take initiative with the faction and make them great.

An active and populated faction is much more likely to have regular DM quests and be the center and focus of plots. We much prefer to spend our time and energy on figuring out things like that rather than doing something that players could just as easily (and much more effectively) handle themselves.

I hope this is clear and seems sensible. Feel free to let me know if it isn't.
