Last night we the third (and thus far longest) segment in the 'green animatron' series of DM quests.
Talk about freaking amazing!
First, my hats off to Thrawn for trying to keep up with the 20-30 people that jumped in on this quest and were running all over the various area of this quest. He did a great job handling the millions of questions and so on as well as he threw out all the stops as far as tough villians to fight - HOLY MOLY! Never seen some of those enemies take so much damage before dying!
Second, I'd like to thank the players that joined in. I'm relatively new to the server (several months) and spent most of my time playing Tarnis. But this time my character Arthan got a chance in the spotlight and lead, literally, an army into some of the most intense action I've seen on this server yet. From the moment I made the sending all the way to the decision that we just could not continue any further was great.
Thanks for the opportunity to lead such a colorful group of characters through what I thought was a quest that took truly epic effort to march through. I mean seriously, did anyone even have any healing left at the end?
In short, WOW. Can't wait till the next segment in this series.
Please chime in if you thought this was an awesome adventure!

Sounds absolutely awesome. Kudos to all involved, from the sounds of it. 8)
I just wish stuff like this happened in our time zones...

well if it's any consolation to those who missed it the quest really didn't start till about 11pm Central time (which is -6GMT) and lasted till nearly 2am before our group was so battered that we had to turn back. So this wasnt happening in the middle of the afternoon or anything for us.

It was well run and I enjoyed it. I (and my character) learned alot about joining large groups and going along with them and that is:
-Be careful who you adventure with-
It was difficult to roleplay though, there was a lot of action! During breathers (when I didn't die) I was effectively ignored the majority of the time but situations like that can't be avoided when you have a -huge- group and don't know anyone.
Hopefully I can get more involved with the players (in a positive way) next time.

I had fun with that too. Groups that big are hard to manage, but that went pretty smoothly overall.
My one regret is everyone turned back before finding the "Huge Pile of Gold and Shiny Things".

Sometimes it feels like I must be turning back before every HPoGaST. :)

That quest lasted for almost 3 hours and I think by that time many of the players were just simply tired. I know I physically felt drained from the sheer level of constant concetration I had on that.
Then there was the issue of the mages who tried to return and rest only to find out they couldn't get back into the quest area again because of some locked door.
So that cut our numbers down to nearly half and those that were left were taking a helluva beating.
I really wanted to keep going, but from the mobs you were throwing at us I didn't think the 4 that stayed behind with me could handle it.
I feel bad that we didn't complete the quest, but I suppose we kept it all IC and perhaps it was good for a group to suffer a defeat, to keep us all in check.

4 people would have had problems.
There wasn't really a "not finished" side to things. Just free money.

Way to torture us Thrawn! Just kidding. It was a blast.
(Even though Pup was killed with just 2 hits from an animatron!)

No it's not. Thankfully I was around for the next installment also, but sadly the damn server crashed and Thrawns 75+ minutes of set up time for it went to waste just as we started out.
I feel bad but hopefully he'll calm down and set it back up in the near future.
