Entar's Box

This is a wooden box that Entar keeps with him most of the time. There are sereval sheets of paper inside the box, most of them old and tattered.

Currently on Entar's person.

A small stack of old papers dating back to 1369 DR contains a copy of a detailed, official report directed to high-ranking knights at the Order of the Most Radiant Heart. Apparently, the writer has investigated recent Shadow Thief activity and the murder of a city official, and has gathered enough proof to find and condemn four somewhat notorious members of the organization.

A small, crudely written note says:

Deril,

You will NOT arrive to court tomorrow morning, else every single soul you hold dear will die painfully. Even your precious Helm cannot help you then.

The note is badly tattered and difficult to read.

This parchment has no corners, as if torn off somewhere. The writing is elegant, and contains an announcement of execution.

Let it be known.

The former paladin and servant of Helm, Entar of House Deril, has denied his god and broken his oaths, and thus his god has denied him. For dark crimes that this man commited against his wife and daughter, he will be stripped of his knighthood and will be executed by hanging. All who wish to honour the murdered or see justice be done are welcome outside the eastern gate at dawn tomorrow.

On the 20th of Eleint, 1369 DR

The Holy Order of the Most Radiant Heart Athkatla Amn

This announcement also has no corners, and the writing is similar.

BOUNTY NOTICE

Let it be known to those of mercenary and adventuring profession that the Holy Order of the Most Radiant Heart will pay five hundred gold coins for the head of the fallen paladin known as Entar Deril. Should one capture him and bring him to Athkatla, where he may face the rightful punishment for his crimes, the reward is doubled.

Last seen headed towards the Cloudpeak area on the 20th of Eleint. At this moment he is unlikely to have left Amn.

A rough but accurate description of Entar follows.

One of the oldest papers consists a detailed map of the Cloudpeak area, and there are sereval markings made. Most of them are dates and notes that only the owner could possibly hope to connect into something, but obviously important nevertheless.

One of these notes is particularly interesting and easy to understand, though. In the north-west corner, there's a small drawing what seems to resemble a doorway of some sort. Next to it, two lines have been drawn; a shorter one crossing the longer like a cross or a sword. An old date is written above it, and beside it reads: 'DROW'.

On top of the papers, there is a new, recently written note.

Since you are reading this note, I must have fallen in combat and passed on. The reasons why I came here and why I never left is in this box. While I would suggest against reading them, I guess it doesn't matter what conclusions you draw from my past.

You are likely to have my wealth and possessions with you. I ask that you donate them all to the shrine of Helm outside the city gates, built on the wall. There they may be used for the good of everyone within this city. Perhaps I have then achieved something good in my life.

Stay vigilant, and may Helm watch over you.
