I have noticed that some characters die in a quest and return to the action "Without missing a beat". They seem to start up just as they left off. I see this as causing a couple issues...
1. Death is meaningless in some cases for roleplaying except for the OOC effect of losing exp and the IC effect of losing items.
2. The death of a character seems to not be noticed by himself or others IC wise in some cases.
And just to make note I have also seen some play out death really really well. I also know how sometimes rp can get pushed aside to get some things done.
So my question is in a world where people are brought back to life so quickly how should it be precieved? Are there any good ways to recognize death with still getting quests done and not to much by dwelling on it?

As explained somewhere or another, when you respawn to your body it is generally appropriate to RP it as a near-death experience or being knocked unconscious. We believe that an attitude of this kind actually makes plot-significant death far more significant to the character's RP.
If you die to PvP or through a plot of some kind, it is thus inappropriate to respawn.
So, what you've observed is actually good, since if characters are respawning it would rapidly get absurd to have the idea that they're actually dying and coming back to life each time.

Do you mean that dying to pvp and in plot quests should be permanent or does it just depend on the circumstances?

Please don't post in other people's threads.
If you die in PvP, you shouldn't respawn at all. If you do respawn, it should be after some serious time has passed, and you should have absolutely no recollection of the death.

I will note, this doesn't mean it has to be permanent. It's just preferable that if you come back, it should be by getting raised, not through respawn.
