[!] Letters sent to Tigereye and Watch

Tigereye/Watch,

This letter is to alert you to the official investigation of the Tigereye as opened by the Sanctuary Council as of Ches 12th, 1373 DR. The terms of the investigation are enclosed.

We expect full compliance during the investigation so we can make this a quick and easy process for all of us.

Immediately, the Council requests files related to the following from any member of the Tigereye Mercenary Group:

    * Any notes regarding the drow, Zau. * Any notes on Tobias Breen, including documents regarding extra income. * Any document regarding fines, to spot any further extortion efforts. The previously mentioned financial documents will come in handy for this. Specifically, fines collected by the mercenary Namli. * Any notes or information regarding Sewer Town. * Any documents of pardoning.

Mercenary Noguerya has failed to send us these files by request in a timely fashion and this has been noted. If members of the Tigereye refuse to forward us files that meet the criteria, the Council will authorize the Watch and its scribes to go get the files themselves. We expect an amount of files to begin reaching the Council before the end of the tenday.

Let's make this a painless process and get it over with as quickly as possible for the sake of Sanctuary itself.

-The Sanctuary Council

Certain documents related to topics listed below within the Tigereye Fortress will become open for a full Council Review to check for widespread corruption of the Tigereye Mercenary Group.

These documents will be requested by the Tigereye immediately, but by supporting this proposal we will also gain rights to send scribes to search the Tigereye Fortress for files regarding specific topics and to legalize Watch check-up of the Tigereye Fortress at any moment by request of the council until the investigation is closed. We will only send scribes after we have requested the documents from the Tigereye themselves.

Expect the reports shortly.

Sergeant Marshall

Councilors,

I thought this had been made clear in the past. Our record keeping isnt the greatest, we are mercs not clerks after all. Our records keep, I would imagine looks similar to the god awful mess you have in the town hall. Moldy, papers everywhere, and so on. Each merc keeps his own book, if he chooses. SOme of our folk cant read or write, so I'm sure ya can see the problem there. Personally, my record book refers to my daily happenings. What a done seen and heard. I dont have relations with any of these folk your hunting, so there aint much if anything on the subjects. I cant speak for the pen of others though. I understand Majre is looking into the records you seek. I cant promise you'll find anything. You cant find something that doesnt exist. My patience grows thin on these constant acusations that have no bearing in the real world.

Mordur Onyxadze Tigereye Mercenary

Mordur Onyxadze,

Writing on behalf of the Council, we have been presented with undeniable proof of past and present accusations, including members such as yourself. The Council would not have opened an official investigation without good reason.

I understand your fret but we are simply working in the best interest of Sanctuary.

-Councilor J. Geigne

Councilor Geigne,

I wish to meet with you personally pertaining to the matter of our investigation. It seems this has quickly escalated to an unecessary level. Purhpas through understanding one another we can solve this matter.

Mordur Onyxadze Tigereye Mercenary

Mordur Onyxadze,

I will gladly speak to you about the Council's opinion on the matter. I will call for you soon.

-Councilor J. Geigne

[A bundle of papers with a neatly written note at the top arrives for the Council. The note smells strongly of a distinctive pipe smoke.]

Councilor,

As one of the few mercenaries who can read, I spent the day going through what files we have to put together what you're looking for.

Regarding the drow, Zau: - No written files found

Regarding Tobias Breen, - No written files found

Regarding fines, [A large bundle of several hundred pieces of parchment and scraps of zurkh-paper are tied up, many completely illegible. Included within the bundle are some parchments that appear to be nothing more than a series of dots, squigglies, and one at least one parchment has a crude picture of a naked drow woman with exaggerated features and a whip in the margin, with a series of dashes in the center of the parchment. Towards the top of the pile is a relatively clean parchment with the word "Fines" at the top, and rows of numbers along the sides. The numbers are all relatively small, most in the range of 30-120. The word "Juline" is at the top of this parchment.]

Regarding Sewer Town,

008- L discovered a hidden door in the sewers. We used a battering ram to break et down. We found a lower part of the sewer filled with large blocks a slime. Some were only hurt by magic. Here we found a hole that lead to a breeding den of rats. It mightta been near some Chosen area. We found little to indicate that anyone outside of people gone lost have been down here. Jes bones...

028- I got the bastard that assisted Korax in the killing of the Commander and the Councilor. Symondor. I've been working under cover to smoke out this pile of waste. I had cought word that he had been hiding out in sewer town. So I kept an eye on that place. Sure enough here were round there. I got him in the sewers like the scum he was. I got him to agree to some work with trouble in the Hoar temple. As we headed up we got to chatting, and he revealed himself to be the man I were looking for. He went down relatively easy. He didnt have the Commander's armor, but he did have her badge, as well as Councilor Dreagle's toga. I will brief the Captain before I go public with this to collect on the bounty, which will go in the treasury, and before i return yet another toga to the council. Ah...I just reread the bounty...it says alive. Ah well, maybe we'll luck out.

Councilor, I remind you again that most of our mercenaries are illiterate and not a well organized bunch. If you'd like us to hire more secretaries we'd be happy to do so, but we can not afford to do that on the budget you currently allocate to our organization.

I do ask that these files be returned to us as soon as possible.

Respectfully yours,

Lt. Samson

[Several weeks later after Jacob copies the significant files they are returned as requested. With it is a very short note stating that the investigation has been closed.]
