Respawns, raises, memory, and PvP

currently on the server, respawning is the norm, from what I have seen at least. I witnessed some PvP in the sewer where the fallen soon after respawned and my concern is, how much does he recall? would he remember the events leading all the way up to his death or forget something like the last five minuets prior to dieing to reduce the "tattle" factor that PvP often brings about. perhaps this memory loss could be characteristic of re-spawns but not for player raises (to account for the fact respawning after PvP makes me sad). i understand this can't really be enforced, but seeing as how the server has a player base composed entirely of good RPers, if it(or some varied version of it) is collectively agreed upon, than I am fairly certain there will not be any real problems. (similar to how it is commonly accepted that memories of the Fugue).

anyone else on the same page?

You get a message stating explicitly that you don't recall anything that occurred in the Fugue Plane.

but what about events leading up to death? mostly just in concern to PvP.

I heard some bullshit about you can't remember anything that happened 7 seconds prior to the exact moment you get knocked out (in real life, I mean).

I sort of follow this. If someone takes more than 7 seconds to kill me, I'll say I can offer a description of them, provided they weren't disguised.

I suppose everyone RPs knocking someone's head against a rock several times to ensure they have longterm amnesia.

As for actual effect of being brought back from the Fugue Plane to the Prime Material, I never thought that in itself would offer up any memory loss. I take the 7 second thing as a universal constant no matter how you return.

That's just me though.

The circumstances surrounding one's death determines what they will or will not remember about the event. For example, if someone is walking down an alley and their attacker jumps out from the shadows to deal a lethal strike, the victim would probably only recall the image of a figure behind them followed by a sharp pain in their ribs. In the same manner, if two rivals decide to duel to the death, the loser will probably remember a lot of what happened to them. Therefore, unlike stating characters have no recollection of their time in the Fugue Plane, there is no way to make a blanket statement about what they recall before death.

Your character's death is part of an unfolding story, so use your best judgment in determining what they recall of it.
