Sanctuary Warriors Guild

A large parchment written in perfect handwriting, bold and clear, is tacked up at all prominent bards, in both Upper and Lower, by a man in bloodstained plate

The Sanctuary Warrior's Guild

The time has come, brothers of the blade and bow, kinsmen of the battlefield. Unite as one!

This is a call to the military men and women of this town, of any race, faith or experience. This is a call to those who *fight* for survival, rather than live off someone else's blood and sweat. This is an invitation, to group with those like you. Every city on the surface has a Warrior's Guild to cater for its military men and women. Now we do too.

For those of you who are unsure, or have never been to city on the surface, or indeed those who were born here in this town, the premise of a Warrior's Guild will be explained.

Like all guilds, the Sanctuary Warrior's Guild works for its members, rather than vice versa. The members *are* the Guild. Essentially, the Guild is a band of warriors who have willingly banded with their fellow brothers in arms. Their are a plethora of benefits and advantages in grouping with those like youself:

COMRADESHIP There are few things in this world more tangible and paramount than the friendship and brotherly love of your fellow men of war. These are the people who will march beside you and fight at your back. The men and women who live and die by the sword need their peers. And the Warriors Guild is entity which will provide such in plenty.

MUTUAL PROTECTION Any warriors who join the Guild will come under the protection of the Guild itself. If you are being hunted by some coward in the shadows, join us, your fellow brothers in blood and war. No single man can stand against a band of true warriors. This offer does not extend to those who run from the law, though. If you have debts or deeds left unpaid to the law, see to them *before* joining.

TRAINING Undoubtedly one of the most important facets of the Guild is the opportunity to train regularly with fellow members. Regardless of experience, training is beneficial. If you match blades with a more experienced warrior, you learn from the cuts and bruises. You become student. If you draw steel with a less experienced fighter, you become teacher. Martial training really speaks for itself: you will become quicker, stronger and deadlier. All warriors who join the Guild will train *very* regularly in the Arena, so expect this.

RESOURCES AND INFORMATION Pooling information and sharing resources is a fundamental tenet in any Guild, and ours is no different. All members who join the Guild will be required to present anything they are selling to the Guild, in particular arms and armour. This will ensure that all warriors will hear of the goods to be sold, which in turn ensures first preference to members. In addition, information is another commodity we will trade in, a commodity which no doubt benefits all members. Additionally, let it be known that a vast array of armaments, all magical, have already been gathered and stowed away. These will be *given* out to new members, in an effort to see them outfitted and equipped for battle.

TOURNAMENTS In agreeance with its aim to see all members excel on the battlefield, the Sanctuary Warrior's Guild will be organising monthly tournaments at the Arena. These tournaments will offer large rewards; gold coins in their thousands. Tournaments organised by the Guild will, in addition to the great prizes, also feature free Arena healing and separate fighting divisions, ensuring all warriors who participate are matched evenly, healed to full health, and paid well.

EMPLOYMENT At any time it can prove troublesome finding willing hands for a paying task. Warriors who join the Guild will work together, just as they train together. If a job comes up, warriors will come to the Guild and annouce it if they need extra swords. And those extra swords will be found. In addition to normal employment, the Warriors Guild will also be handling mercenary and contractual work for large jobs. Organisations such as the Spellguard, Seekers, Watch and Tigres, and indeed the Cuoncil itself will at times need a band of dedicated, stout warriors. And that is exactly what the Warrior's Guild is.

These are the fundamental concepts that provide a solid, unshakeable base for the Guild, from which it will grow and bloom. In the years to come, our reputation as the organisation that provides solid, reliable and skilled warriors for those that need them, at any time, will be unmatched.

Further announcements will be posted in the very near future, once negotiations for a base of operations have been finalised. The annoucements will include details, such as the membership tithe, leadership details and the ranking system, as well as dates for meetings involving prospective members.

Warriors who are interested in becoming a part of this new future, and who are more than willing to defend this town and fight for the surface, leave your name, profession and current lodging details below. You'll be contacted.

*pinned next to one of the notices*

Skret,

Please remove any inferences that you have made to working with the watch. I don't want people thinking that the watch has such low standards that we would hire the likes of you to sweep the streets, let alone defend this city.

Skret walks by, reads Lockwood's addendum to the notice, then rips it off

*scrawled over the posters in dark black ink is*

This man be no more that a drunken fool, if you wish to join him expect to sit there as cannon fodder to preotect himself from harm, that is all you will be to him, he lies cheats and beats unarmed men with his sword, he is a coward.

Skret, yet again, walks by and simply rips the note off the board, tearing it into pieces, only moments after it is put up.

*a small note is placed next to a couple of Skret's notices*

An idea weighs heavier than the infirmity of a man.

Citizens would do well to uphold the tenets written on this notice, cooperation is the only way to survival.
