death of a gaming store

well it is offical the local gameing store in Winston-Salem N.C. has died. Sigh. Just when I was graduating and I might have had time to actually show up for a PnP game. *cries*. Store was great because it had several tables that were always open for gaming was a place to get together as much as a store.

Now I'm going to have to go back to using Barnes and Nobel to try and reqruit gamers. *cries*

just thought I would share my pain

My sympathies mate. Game store owners that can keep their stores alive are a rare gift, which as far as I know we lack even in the great city of Memphis.

Best of luck in recruiting.

(PS Though we do have a Warhammer/GamesWS outlet, with a 15 ft Space Marine statue in front! Pretty sweet, and even moreso if you play.)

where is this outlet..? Don't play warhammer much but may be worth looking at just to see it..

Warhammer is fairly good, at least it was until they put the prices up so damn high :(

Seconded, I have not purchased a single GW product since the rise, and to be honest, I'm getting more into D'n'D anyway. But then again, I can take GW stores for granted here, loads of them in Scotland, when me and my friends got tired of one, we simply started going to another, easy as that.

You're in Winston Salem, North Carolina, Zaldar? I live in Winston and run a PnP game. Group is a bit full at the moment but I could likely get you in touch with some other groups I know that are running if we don't end up with a spot opening ourselves in the near future. Pop me a pm if you're interested.

I'd sympathize, but my experience in games off electronics is limited. Pokemon when I was a kid, and I play a bit of Magic: The Gathering. So I'm not good with board games etc. Always wanted to learn how to play DnD though, now all I need is friends to play it with lol...if only I was joking :?
