Godly DMs

Ok this is a fun thread.. at least i hope it will be. :)

If EfU DMs were deities, what would be their alignment, portfolio, holy symbol, worshippers, etc?

And that's about it.

Edited: Took 'FR'

I'd say Howland is like an attentive, considerate Ao.

Metro is Umberlee. That's right.

I think I might have worded it a bit too confusing..

I meant 'what if DMs were deities...', not 'what DM matches what deity in FR..'

But thank you for your post :)

Arkov The Crafty One, Patron of Ownage, Lord of Scripting

Symbol: Home-boy: Howland Alignment: Lawful Nerdy Portfolio: Bookwriting, Scripting, Deep and Hidden Mystery Plots Worshipers: DM Channel Spammers Favored Weapon: “PC Kill Tool/Hellball Toggler” (tool) Cleric Alignments: LG, CE, N NwN Domains: Luck, Death, Healing, Magic

History/Relationships: As a mortal, Arkov coveted power, researching the arcane lore of the Handbooks in an effort to further his studies. His dedication eventually led to his being installed as the second DM, a position created specifically by Howland to recognize his most promising semi-mortal pupil. Arkov then sought to carve a piece of the deity Mr. Cheez-it's divinity and bind it to himself – an experiment that ultimately failed. This led to a series of battles with Mr. Cheez-it, ending with that deity's imprisonment in a staff. With the help of Howland, who had become his lover(?), Arkov finally ascended to divine status. Mr. Cheez-it (now freed from his imprisonment) grudgingly serves Arkov, as does the generally untrustworthy Crosswind.

Dogma:

Hello, everybody. I'm Arkov, and I'll be doing scripting work on the module. A great deal of what I'm doing will be behind-the-scenes: writing and cleaning up scripts, designing efficient ways to accomplish certain scripting tasks, creating tools that let the rest of our DM team better control the environment, and squashing any bugs that crop up.

That said, I'm also hoping to do quite a bit visibly. My personal preference is toward plots involving the exploration of deep, hidden mysteries (of which there are undoubtedly going to be plenty, given the setting), and toward rewarding characters with exotic resources (rather than merely expensive or powerful ones). I'm also usually around to discuss ideas, character concepts, the status of applications, and similar subjects.

I feel the need to say it now that I don't like this sort of stuff. It's all in good fun, I know. Funny, even.

But the last thing I want to see at EfU is the DMs being compared to gods.

They are people, and they are fallible. They play to have fun, same as any of us.

When they start being likened as gods, that's when the problems start. We've all seen it before.

Garem's post was funny, but probably best to be locked. We are but your servants!
