There are a couple of dialogues that force you to complain/ask for items at the end of quests that seem like it would be better to at least give the player the option to choose between "aw c'mon, give me some healing stuff (persuade)" and "glad to help (just complete the quest)" and maybe even an "evil option" because as those quests end now, everyone from a paladin to an evil assassin will react the same way and pester for some healing (rods or potions) with no other way to continue the conversation.
Non-greedy options at conclusion of quest
Different end quest conversation trees are only truly meaningful if they provide different alignment shifts, which raise some exploiting concerns.
I would say, for the sake of the builders not having to go around and change every quest convo, that you simply RP the conversation to go according to your character's personality.
Every quest -should- have an option that just says, "Thanks" instead of asking for more loot. If any don't, please make a report.
On a similair note, shouldn't there be an option for all three persuasion techniques? Bluff, Persuade, and Intimidate?
Okay, I think that the Bats and the Mausoleum only have asking for things (persuade rolls) as a way to continue the convo, at least the last time I did each of them.
I think it could be meaningful even without alignment shifts for the RP it might generate between the party's greedy rogue and it's paladin leader when the pally graciously refuses to ask for more rewards. In fact, it might be fun to have an option to refuse a reward altogether.
Rogue: *jaw drops* Bu-wh-*smacks his forehead with his palm* What do you mean "Simply having rid the world of this evil is reward enough?" Righteousness won't put ale in my belly!"
This would certainly be a good opportunity to make use of the social skills ranks in the game.
If I don't think the given choices would be what I would say ICly, I simply press escape and get out of the conversation. I always see people -fly- through conversations like it means nothing, but it should really be treated as any IC action you ever do.
ExileStrife I always see people -fly- through conversations like it means nothing, but it should really be treated as any IC action you ever do.That's true, but if there's only one branch anyways...
