An interesting event occured yesterday whilst I was playing - my character and a couple of others were discussing leadership roles when I received a level up notice and a message saying I had been awarded over 9.5 million XP

I spoke with Howland who removed the XP and everything was corrected.

Has anyone had anything bizarre like that happen or have any idea how it could happen?

Well I think it would have been suspicious if my 7th level character suddenly become 137th Level - bsides it would have taken for ever to Level up and ensure I had maximum hit points at each level :twisted:

He probably wanted to give you say 400xp for some great bit of roleplay clicked "give level" instead of give xp typed 400 and did'nt notice he just typed 40 and then clicked okay.

God i hope that wasnt me. im pretty sure it wasnt. if it was boy i feel stupid. im going to get tells and pms all day asking for levels.

The sad thing was at the end of it I didn;t get any bonus at all - but I still have my character so am happy :-)

I would have at least mowed through the vast majority of the server explored the deepest levels of the sewers and the ruins before I said anything and wanted for a DM to notice a drop a level 200 DEMON on me or something..hmm maybe you could have gone to the drow town and ended up fighting lolth..

I'm sure everyone that has said that they wouldn't tell a DM was joking, but in all seriousness, if something such as this happens to you, I urge you to report it immediately.

This particular case is being looked into currently.
