This may be implimented and if so sorry for bothering you..I doubt I've ever gotten to the point where I would know. Anyway thought it might be interesting to institute a higher level of DM experience for particularly good roleplaying either in quests or outside of them, but with the name making it obvious that is being granted for superior roleplaying. As it stands right now when ever DM experience is given I'm always left wondering if it was just for the quest or if it means I roleplayed well. Though roleplaying is its own reward, and the reason I stay on this server, it could be used to teach those who care how to roleplay better (since they would know when they had done so exceptionally well) and encourge roleplaying in those that might not otherwise. Hopefully this would enhance the level of roleplay on the server.

I'd be afraid it'd raise the level of "HEY LOOK AT ME!!!!!1!!!1!!" roleplaying.

It'd also engender the "He's the DM's favorite!" and "Why didn't I get extra xp I roleplayed on this quest?!" syndromes.

If you receive experience, and are curious why, you should feel free to ask.

For what it's worth, experience that just appears in your combat bar is generally individualized, xp you get with a message that says "You have received DM Granted Experience" indicates that it was most likely given to the entire party.

Anyone I give xp to is more than welcome to ask me why. I will have a justifiable reason to give xp.

I can think of one or two times where I have had a character that was granted experience for Roleplaying.

The last time I was playing an Elven Priest talking to a confused young Elf looking for guidance - we both suddenly received a message saying we have been awarded 300 XP.

Was a really nice suprise - I don;t even know the DM that awarded it but thank you.

I like this method. That way only the DM and the player know how much was given. This was hard for me to do in PnP and often pissed off some players..(the dm favorite thing) But my stance was if I felt they were good players they should get more experience.
