If you ever wondered what I do when I'm not playing

www.myspace.com/davidkingthebeast

It would be cool to create maybe an EFU myspace where it might get more people to look into it, if it hasn't been done already.

Just a suggestion, there are a lot of people on it and I dont doubt people will look into it.

If any of the other people out there have a myspace I'd like to look into yours as well, I like to know the crazy people I am playing with

If there is a line I have crossed posting this let me know.

Please. Crossed the line. Youre putting your own personal info out there and thats not a problem.

I just figured that we are a pretty close knit community and that to get a better understanding of what goes on within our heads some personal background would be cool. I want you guys to know Im insane and have no clue what I am doing so what better way to show that by revealing myself.

There you go. I'd be behind an EfU Myspace Page.

I think it would be up to the dms ultimately, they are the ones to create it so I think they should be the ones to decide how vast the publication should be or at least where it is shown. I'd like to create it myself unless someone is better with the whole creating thing. But I'm sure I can figure something out. Maybe a EFU myspace team that way its just not on one person.

I personally feel that Myspace and the like are a cancer that will kill many before it is cured. It is a fascinating way for bands to put their name out and a great way for cute little girls to have an older man take advantage of them and carve jesus in their chest, leaving them dead in a hotel room covered in tarot cards. But, everyone needs a hobby I guess. People like to smoke, that gives them cancer. Why not Myspace. I like to draw, personally.

I dont get Myspace. Why would someone put all their personal info on a website? That EVERYONE can view, "Hey are you the 15 year old brown haired high schooler from new york?" Thats what I see happening. Who really has the ammount of free time that enables you to care if someone went to a park, helped an old person, got a cut or whatever. My brother is into it, and it just seems over-exposing. I mean, myspace is like a journal right? And the point of a journal is to put your deepest darkest thoughts on paper to be your own, well, that raises more question; why put your deepest thoughts on paper that can be read, and second, whats the point of broadcasting on the internet no less, how your day went, how you're feeling etc. Just seems to open up doors that should be kept under lock and key. Just my personaly thoughts though, I tend to have rants... Just needed to get that out of my system, *Answers own question* So thats what journals are for... *Cough*

And about what hookswords said, I guess if you want to get yourself abducted, its a great way to do it. Plus, lowest, you asking to see peoples personal information? Sounds a bit creepy to me, I'm not saying anything, just how it comes off mate; All I think you need to know behind the player is the gender, if even that, I mean technically, the likelyhood of you meeting this person is approximately six billion to one, considering the population, just doesn't seem needed to have their name, age, gender, occupation, etcetera. If it comes up in casual convo, cool, but if you go looking for it, just comes off wierd.

P.S. I reckon most on myspace dont roleplay, or even know what neverwinter nights is, or they know about one or the other, as most have heard of roleplaying, and just either see it in the wrong light, or chose to not assosciate themselves with it. But alas, it 'tis not my descision, if the dm's say no, you could atleast form a fan club, no? :?

P.P.S. Whats with that jesus in the background? Was a bit taken aback by that.

Classic.

Hooks and Snakey have summed up my views on Myspace.com perfectly.

Having said that though, if others like it, then let them. Free world, and all that. If people want to make an EfU Myspace...they can certainly count me out of both participating and/or viewing it though.

Myspace can be all the bad things mentioned above. But my friends and I have a very specific use for it. Unlike most people on myspace determined to think they are 'special' or 'liked' because they have 3000+ 'friends' on myspace, we only put people we know and really are friends with. Further, though I have fallen out of the use of myspace groups, we generally like to use it for groups. There are Neverwinter Nights myspace groups, and other interests.

As for randomly tossing all your deepest, darkest secrets on Myspace, or using it as a dating service, those ideas are not the best. But if the intent is to gather friends together in a place where they can communicate and form a group, then it's great. For EfU, we already have that in these forums, IRC, and of course in game, so therefore myspace is not really an essential. But barring those methods of organization, myspace could serve extremely well for a group. The only other reason I see EfU possibly using it is for the idea LOAS presented of just being able to get a better understanding of one another.

-IF- this were an idea that went anywhere, I would highly recommend no extremely personal info (to include using your real name), calendars of when and where you would be doing something, avoid being a fourteen year old girl and posing like you want some fifty year old man to come find you, and set your blog to private (meaning only friends can read it). Also, don't use a pic. I don't. Sure people know where I go to school, but 5,000 some odd people go. Sure I live in Winston Salem, NC, but nearly 300,000 people do, etc.

Anyway, I have a tendency to want to be on the other side of a debate, even if I partly or mostly agree with the opposing view. It's fun. But in the perverbial nutshell, myspace can be as useful as you make it. It can also be as insanely dangerous as you make it. Toodles.

I've had people contact me by networking through Myspace. People say "Man. i havent seen Hooks in awhile. Lets seen if some idiot from high school is on Myspace and has his number." When someone from high school called my cell and said that they got ahold of me by networking on Myspace was when I wrote that thing off permanently. I hated it before, and I loathe it now. If I wanted to be found I would put my shit out there. I dont like the fact that something I have nothing to do with can be used to find me. Google me, fine. Use the phone book, sure. Use Myspace? You just signed away your left testicle my friend.

I wasnt surprised by your answers at all, I just haven't been around for a week. It can be a cancer but hey, I find that NWN is just as much as a cancer, at least Myspace is RL.

The pic in the back ground has one(bottom) the Lamb representing Jesus Christ as he was before death(symbolism for He is the lamb that died for our sins[what I believe]) then a pic of Jesus Christ on the cross(middle[showing what He did to express His love for us/what happened to Him]) and a Lion(bottom[representing the second coming of Jesus Christ and how He will be like a Lion{instead of a Lamb}])

And Finally and more to the point I figure I can abandoned all hope of getting a myspace "familiy". But I do not see a problem with having a EFU myspace. Its to get the word out about NWN and EFU not to waste ones life away(which NWN and EFU does for us anyway)

With all respect, that is totally irrelevant. There are Christian chat channels for ranting like that. Or Myspace.com 'blogs'.

Well, Snakey did ask about the Jesus picture, and as it is LOAS's post about his own myspace, I don't see the problem with him explaining it to someone who asks, or the irrelevancy of it.

Also a bit confused on how its a rant, but oh well. :P

Yeh, my bad there. Thought it was random...preaching. I'm very against that type of stuff. Missed the question, so sorry LOAS, it wasn't irrelevant at all.

*smacks himself in the face for being stupid*

Luckily I wasnt paying attention to the forum and ended up seeing things sorting out for them selves. Thanks for covering my back Fishingpenguin(just in general not asying your opinions are the same as mine) If I was preaching I wouldnt make sense, just for future references.

Well, now that I think about it, with all my choices being of a negative impact on this forum I say to trash this topic cause I am fully hated. When I said something about crossing the line I didnt refer to crossing the personal info part but the myspace part and if thats how most of you feel then I guess I'll just not do it. *shrugs*
