A letter sent to Armand of the Society of the Ordered Mind

Master Armand,

I am glad to have been able to aid the Society in the past and look forward to doing so many more times. I have spoken at length with Pywen about many things pertaining to Sanctuary and the Society and after much discussion it became clear that I should seek your wisdom in the matter of whether I should apply to the Society or not.

I have done a deal of research into the aims of the various factions within Sanctuary. I can find none that do not support at least one agenda I disagree with. While I believe all of the major factions are both important and necessary for the continued success of this place, each follows a path I can not wholly support. To date, the only such faction that I could do such in, appears to be the Society. The rub lies in my political aims. I intend to run for Council and while Pywen does not seem to believe my stated intentions as a Counciller would conflict with the Society, she is concerned that such an ambition would leave me unable to fulfill whatever my Society duties might be should I be accepted.

First and foremost I could never be a desk-bound politician. I am a man of action and would continue to directly confront threats to my new home. Secondly, if I were to make it to the council, and that would be a bit of an if, I would be willing to step down from my role in the Society if it were deemed necessary. However, I would like to clearly state my belief in my ability to meet the demands of both.

As such, given the statements contained herein, I would like to know your thoughts on this. If you wish to speak to me on this matter, you have but send word and I will make myself readily available.

Sincerly,

Silver Corwynn

Received.
